Could I make a request please?

is it possible to have a eye roll🙄 reaction? No idea if this would be a pest to do. I know a few of us have mentioned it in threads before. So I thought I would chance my luck and ask.

thank you 😊

I know lots have suggested it before, but there's several reasons we've held back.

* It would give 8 reactions and start wrapping onto two lines for some phones and be a bit more difficult to use

* All reactions are supposed to be positive, and an eye roll could be something often used as negative against a poster whereas an angry face is mostly at the situation

I might do a few tests though :)

Can we have a ❤ reaction? Sometimes I kind of want to send encouragement/some love to somebody... 😍 And 👍 seem inappropriate for example when somebody mentions in a post "my father has passed away" but sending 🙁 seems a bit depressing - I don't want to send a sad reaction, just some love.

I understand about the positive reaction reason, but then why is there an angry emotion?

Hi,
Is there a possibility of adding a “care” emoji, similar to the one on Facebook?
Sometimes people want to show they care about what the poster has written but a “love” emoji isn‘t quite right.
Obviously, the logistics of this may be easier said than done.
Thank you.

Just wanna say some people love to use the vomit emoji 🤢 at posters too which can get annoying
It also feels a lot more negative/aggressive than just an eyeroll

Report people that do this, tattle isn't Mumsnet or 4chan where goading and winding people up is activley encouraged.

Maybe it's just me but I don't think the hugging a heart reaction is that different to a heart? A heart with love seems generic enough. It used to be 😍 which was a tad inappropriate at times!

The only emoji reaction I don’t like is the angry reaction as I never know if someone is angry with me, disagrees with my post, or is reacting to the influencer behaviour (e.g. if I say ‘hinch just encouraged mixing chemicals on her Instagram story, how irresponsible!’)
This isn’t me asking to change it though, I’m just thinking out loud :D

The heart that's already in place definitely looks better than that. I don't know why but that smiley winds me up on facebook 🤣

Thanks for responding.
I think sometimes the ❤ can seem inappropriate.
For example, someone posts that their pet has just died. You want to show care and support but the ❤ could be interpreted that you love their post when you actually mean that you are sending love.

does the same apply to those using a laughing reaction to someone clearly giving an earnest response that is contrary to the reactors opinion? I see this a lot in certain threads
