I was in Prague once in mid-January and they still had trees and decs up, still playing xmas music. It was nice and not tacky at all. I will take my tree down on 2nd Jan as it's starting to look a bit dry and brown in places already. There was a poster who said no one observes 12 days of xmas anymore but my parents and all my relatives do and they're not even religious. They just don't understand that some people do things differently to them
They’d be horrified by me. My tree has been up since October and will probably be up til February at the earliest. Maybe longer, who knows. I just like having it up.

I despise noisy neighbours threads. The majority of the replies are always ‘go and live in a field if you don’t like it’ and you can guarantee none of the fuckers have ever experienced noisy neighbours or are loud, inconsiderate, selfish arseholes themselves.

duck OFF. One of ndneighbours had 3 teenagers and one would practice the drums at random hours of the day and night and the other would hold parties from 5pm-6am with a professional sound system that wouldn’t have been out of place in a nightclub. But according to MN, it was my problem that I didn’t like the noise and I should ‘just’ move house.

Did anyone see the thread about the BIL ruining Christmas? Basically, the OP was hosting Christmas and wanted it to be special because she’d had the all clear from cancer and her BIL behaved like a feral pig. I hate to defend the vipers but as far as I recall the ‘original’ ‘witch, are you on glue?’ (or similar) was posted over a decade ago, and in context it perfectly summed up an OP’s bizarre reaction to a trivial issue. Wasn’t it the original Bridezilla thread? The bride wanted lots of free help with decorating the venue from the OP who was her friend but wasn’t being invited to the wedding. If I remember she’d had a save the date card…not to save it for an invitation but so that she was free to graft on the day.

Top MNer on our street has a child in my daughter’s class. She’s VERY Amanda from Motherland - can’t cope if everything isn’t about her and her family. My friend and I did the collection for the teacher presents and I said I’d get vouchers for each teacher and make some cupcakes with the change (since you can’t get vouchers for £32.56) - she said she made cupcakes too, so I said well you can make them if you want? Anyway, she declined, I made the cupcakes sent the photos of them to the group (so people knew I’d done them and what they looked like) and she replied simply by sending a photo of the cupcakes SHE’D made for the teachers
then at the class’ Christmas party it was her daughter’s birthday so she renamed the party her daughter’s birthday party……
god it must be exhausting being her
