You will be in peri menopause. You can't class your self as through menopause until you have gone a full year without a period. Now you've had a period you'll have to start again and wait until you've gone a full year without one. Peri can last upto 10 years unfortunately!

It's perfectly normal to have a big bleed during peri.

I would suggest the menopause matters forum. Lots of knowledgeable women and loads of advice on there.

When you say early, how old are you because if you're under 45, you need to be on HRT to protect your bones/heart etc.

I’m 44 now and have been on HRT for 4 years.
I would have a look on Menopause Matters as I don't take HRT so not sure how it works. It gives you a period doesn't it?

The only time to worry about a bleed is once you've gone a year without a period in menopause. That kind of bleed would need checking out.
