Anyone watch him?
He’s one of those minimalist lifestyle gurus. I stopped watching him because he’s incredibly mansplainy and comes off as really full of himself.
I’m about to go on a rant…
The pregnancy announcement video was so annoying. He basically made it about himself. Like the intro was just himself and HE announced it…and then he included his wife later in the vid, out of obligation.
The part that really annoyed me was when he was like “I said our life is about to change and most of you guessed she was pregnant… and you’re right. She’s pregnant.” *giggle* That’s such dumb thing to say…of course he can’t see how something like that could have consequences. No, please do NOT encourage people to make assumptions about women’s bodies/lives. Women already have to deal with that tit IRL, they don’t need dumbass Matt perpetuating the cycle of misogyny on the internetwhere every time a woman has an announcement it MUST be because she’s pregnant.
And he probably describes himself as a “Nice Guy.” Like *oh, I have my arm around my wife and I’m letting her talk in my video. I’m so supportive.* But his shining compliment of her is that “you respect me and what I want” and how she doesn’t buy anything without thinking of him first. And the way he dismisses her when she says “I’m not a minimalist” and he’s like “you still SAY that you’re not a minimalist BUT…” Like dude, shut up, if she says she’s not a minimalist then she’s not a minimalist. And he was so annoyed that they have a panini press because HE doesn’t eat bread and HE doesn’t see why they need it…but she loves it and uses it everyday. It’s just very clear that their lifestyle revolves around him. And what he likes about her is that he’s molded her into a female version of…himself.
It was funny though how later on in the vid she was like “I don’t enjoy challenges, I enjoy fun. I’m like the opposite to you.” Lol.
