Unfortunately I don't think there's a one size fits all answer for this, I think it depends what you're looking for, your budget, and ultimately everyone will have a different opinion! However, FWIW, these are some bits of make up I love that you can get in Boots, and tend to feel nice and luxurious!

Eyebrows - anything Benefit for eyebrows for me, I tend to use the goofproof eyebrow pencil in shade 3 or 4 (depending on if my highlights are in or not, I have very dark brown hair otherwise)
Eyeliner - I have a lovely Dior pencil eyeliner in dark brown
Mascara - I would lean towards Too Faced Better Than Sex or Benefit Roller Lash
Moisturiser - Clinique Moisture surge - makes my skin feel gorgeous
Cleanser & Toner - use Pixi for these, I did use Body Shop for a while but my skin felt quite uneven after a month or so
Foundation - I use YSL if you go instore they'll let you have a couple of samples to try so you can check against your skin tone
Primer - Also use YSL gold primer
Lipstick - tend to lean towards Mac
Concealer - Nars :)
Boots do have a good sale online today as well so you might be able to pick up a few more nice bits with your voucher!

Hope this helps, I'm a make up fiend but I do think a lot of it comes down to trying and testing and your skin type. I'm a bit acne prone at the moment, but usually not too sensitive skinned and the above all works well :)

Some of the NYX makeup is great. Their can’t stop won’t stop foundation is one of the best I’ve used personally and I’ve tried a few higher end foundations. Benefit I love their hoola bronzer and some of their eyebrow products particularly the goof proof eye brow pencil and their eyebrow setting gel is good too havent tried much else from them.

NYX do some promising looking and reasonably priced products. I've recently bought the Pore Filler, I really like it, so I am considering something else from that range.

Mascara - I much prefer the cheaper brands such as Rimmel or Loreal. Loreal Million Lashes is brilliant. I find No7 to be hit and miss. I have had a pretty decent one that came in an ombre silver/gold tube.

Foundation - Estee Lauder Double Wear. It is so worth getting a match done if you can these days.

Lipstick - Anything! I go by shade, I do really like Mac or SmashBox though.

Any funky coloured eyeshadows or nail polish Barry M is always good.

Moisturisers/toners etc - it is worth checking if there are any reduced Christmas gifts in the New Year sales. This is where I usually stock up on Revitalift day/night cream gift sets - I managed to find them in Co Op this year!

I also have a VERY good mascara but it is from Wilko. It's name is something along the lines of lash extentions and in a purple tube by their Essence range, it was around £3. One of the best mascaras I have ever used.

I concur that Wilko Essence mascaras are fantastic. The Purple and Green lash princess are the best IMO. Length and thickness.
Aldi Too Legit mascaras are a good dupe for Benefit They're real, great separation and length but not thickness. Lash sensational Maybelline is also a close match for Benefit.
YSL Faux Cills is gorgeous mascara but it dries out super quickly and can flake, L'oreal lash paradise is a similar product, half the price but half the impact. Estee Lauder Sumptuous is also similar, a bit less impact but more stable. Their double wear is decent too if smudging or flaking is an issue for you, it would last for days if you didn't remove it.
Lancome Mascaras are generally very good too though L'oreal do a version of nearly all of the and are a good cheaper option if you don't need a label.
Personally don't rate Dior or Clinique mascaras at all.

If I wanted a treat I would personally go for
Mac, Chanel or Charlotte Tilbury for lips
Lauder for base
Lauder, benefit or Bobbi Brown for Face powers (blush/bronze/shimmer)
Smashbox, Urban decay and some MAC for eyes

I'd stick with Essence mascara and Soap and Glory brow pencil and I'd happily down grade to MUA for eyes and sleek for face powder if my budget didn't stretch.

I really love MUA face primers the moisture one in a green bottle and banana blur are great for the price.
I will check out the essence mascara. I’m currently using lash paradise L’Oréal.
love my Lauder double wear and not found a foundation to beat it yet but I do like trying new products. I want to try the new urban decay foundation too. My wish list is fair too long 😊😆

YES! Essence Lash Princess volume is the best mascara I’ve ever used - £3.50 in Wilko. Essence gel effect nail varnish is great too.

Love a bit of make up.
Foundation - estee lauder double wear
Primer - smash box
Eyeshadow - urban decay
Mascara - maybeline, tried loads and I always go back to it
Lipstick- anything tbh, I have never found one that I have thought is an amazing formula so I tend to buy whatever looks nice
Blush or bronzer - benefit or estee lauder
Eyebrows - maybelline or benefit

Anyone rate Charlotte tilbury make up ? Is it all it’s hyped up to be ?
Im currently using double wear foundation Estée Lauder, benefit hola, Laura Mercia powder.
thank you 😊
Ive heard mixed reviews about the Charlotte Tilbury products. I’ve heard her lip liners and lip products are good and the moisturiser but tbh I think her stuff is over priced but I do like the look of her exagger eyes eye shadow palette but I wouldn’t spend £40 on 4 eyeshadows when I could buy an urban decay eye shadow palette with more in it for a similar price point 🤷‍♀️

@littlepup I’ve heard the Vichy products are very good quality and there skin care stuff is good too. Never tried any of there products but I would definitely try them - another added to the list lol 😂 I love make up abit too much 🤣

I suffer with more enlarged pores and reddish skin on my cheeks. It’s better than it was tho, I was very lazy with my skin care in my younger days.

I got a gift voucher for boots for Christmas and I want to buy some new make up but I’m not sure what is a good brand on there. I’ve used benefit before and like it but want something that feels like a proper treat! Can anyone help me please?

Does anyone use tinted moisturiser? I'm pretty pale and would mind adding abit to my daily route. Also I need some new mascara. I purchased some max factor lash volume and its absolutely awful. Back to benefit mascara from now one. I'll now need to order it online due to my local department store closing down.
The liz Earle tinted moisturiser is the best I’ve used as doesn’t dry your skin out at all. Can’t tell I’m wearing it but my skin glows

Always best to go in a Boots store in a city if possible, they have so many more brands.
Blush etc you can tend to get away with more of the high street brands, L’Oréal life’s a peach is a great one.
I swear by Benefit products for my eyebrows.
I tend to stick to high end foundations, which you can get a lot of in the larger Boots. Fenty have a large selection of shades. Their bronzing sticks are excellent too. I live for my Armani mascara. Go in and ask for some samples.
Enjoy, make up shopping is my favourite kind of shopping.

Thank you. Just thought wouldn't be ideal ordering it online 😔 I had some primark mascara and it was great, only about £3 too, a fraction of the price of the benefit one.

Might try and get some from wilkos, they have a few branded pieces of make up. Only place I could try it on my hand in lockdown I suppose.
I use Maybelline Total Temptation mascara and it’s really really good, probably the best I’ve ever used! I always find the more expensive the mascara the worse it is!

Yes! I have that green bottle one too, it's really good. I find their shadow primer works really well too. I had a duochrome brown/green MUA shadow that I used so much I decided to get a MAC version. The MUA was better in pigment and staying power. Can be hit and miss but their hits are brilliant.
It's really high coverage if you don't blend it out but Vichy Dermablend is my winter foundation - I've got weird pigmentation so I use it kind of like a concealer. Blended over main areas, patted in on high pigment areas. It lasts on me like double wear.

Yes I really like urban decay eye shadow palettes. I’ve got a fair few one them. I’ve heard there new foundation is good too. I use there all nighter setting spray. Hmm I might be tempted at buying lipsticks and lip liners of hers then instead. There’s an offer on her website spend over £75 and get a free foundation. I tend to buy Mac, nyx and Anastasia lip stuff.

Pillow Talk is my holy grail!
Yes my friend uses pillow talk and it always looks lovely on her.

Primer - smashbox
Foundation - fit me (I dont like anything too heavy I mix this with moisturizing cream)
Eyeshadow - beauty bay pallet 100% reccomended and currently half price
Mascara - no7
Lipstick - smashbox
Bronzer - benefit
Setting spray - urban decay

Sorry I cant reccomend anything expensive because I dont use anything high end. However these are the best brands for me and I swear by the beauty bay eyeshadow pallets

Fenty Beauty gloss bombs are amazing if you're a lipgloss wearer. I think they've just come out with a new range if you don't like shimmery glosses. I'd say MAC for lipsticks. Don't go for a ridiculously expensive mascara - Loreal, Maybelline and even Collection do amazing ones for only a few pounds!! The Physicians Formula butter bronzer is really nice, as is Benefit Hoola.
