Little wins you've had

I bought the cheaper kindle but didn't realise it forced you to do an unnecessary extra swipe to make sure you see the advert.

I begrudge giving Amazon any more money as forcing you to do an extra step wasn't explained as the deal.

However on webchat got them to remove the ads for free as I said there were unsuitable adverts for a child showing
If you've had a Lidl Christmas catalogue pushed through your door, don't bin as it has a £5 off £40 voucher

Anyone else got a little win / tip to share?

I went and bought some strawberries today and the lady gave me the second punnet for half price as she said they looked small. On arriving back home I discovered that the first layer of small berries was covering up quite a few layers of huge strawberries - major win! (And they taste incredible).

At the moment if you are struggling and have an outstanding bill with EE. If you pay half, they will wipe the rest. I have used this option with both my mobile and broadband.

This wasn’t recent, but actually quite a big win.
It’s always nice to find money, isn’t it! Well, I was shopping in London with my Mum a few years ago and we were about to pop into Selfridges when I noticed a folded pile of money on the floor. I looked around assuming it was a prank! After a few seconds I picked it up and it was £140 neatly folded as if it had been in someone’s pocket or wallet.
Not being sure what to do with it I showed it to the security guard on the door who told me there was nothing he could do with it. Me and my mum split it and treated ourselves!
I do feel sorry for whoever lost the money - I still can’t quite believe it!

I’m celebrating with you all and reading with interest but nothing to share for myself. I’m the type of person who picks up a 2 for 1 offer without looking properly and then realise when I get home they are actually different items and I’ve been charged full price for both (happened on Wednesday)

A year or so ago I order a rotary makeup organiser from Amazon. But there was a problem with delivery, and after numerous conversations with Amazon they credited me the original (£21) and sent out another one, which arrived next day.

A week later the original one arrived. I could have kept quiet, but since I had to sign for it I contacted Amazon to say my original order had arrived as well. They said keep both, but didn't charge me for the original.

So I was £21 and two organisers up (one of which I gave to my sister as a birthday present) Win Win

I ordered a garden corner sofa from Homebase in April when it was on offer from £400+ to £279, when it arrived i assembled it and the glass table top was missing. I emailed
Homebase and they ignored me for weeks then all of a sudden they replied and said they would send a replacement - 4 days later a whole new sofa set arrived! I took the table top and used it on my table and assumed they would contact me to collect the rest of the set. It's now November and i've heard nothing and have a spare set which i'll be giving to my parents next year I don't feel bad as their service was shocking!!

Amazon customer service is fab, I’ve had so many little wins... the most recent the other day, I ordered 4 liquid hand soaps. One had opened on transit and spilled slightly. They refunded all 4 so I washed them and have 3.8 free hand soaps!

Also, gymshark sale - 50% off a basket of clothes I’d been going to order the day before. Turns out you can use your birthday discount on sale items so I got £160 of stuff for £70. Winning!

I ordered a pair of shoes from Daniel Footwear but they mucked up my payment so I asked to cancel the order and I got a refund and they sent the shoes anyway! Over £120 shoes. Result

I ordered a book on ebay
was meant to arrive by the Monday-I gave it two weeks-no book and they didn’t answer my emails
i got in touch with eBay and they got them to refund me-the book arrived the following morning

i was at work and noticed someone had left a wallet on the table
it was stuffed with cash-I did open it (with my boss next to me and full cctv) to see if we could find a bank card or something
nothing-I we put it in the office and I signed to say I’d found it
15 minutes later a gent came racing through the door asking if we’d found a brown wallet
i got him to confirm it was his,by asking him how much was in it (over a grand)the colour (brown)and what was the picture in it (his daughter) etc
he gave me £20 for being so honest and not taking any money out of it

I once bought a wool coat for 7p at a car boot-and found a tenner in the pocket once I got home

i have a large family and one day I was in Morrison’s with them all
looking very stressed and trying to work out if I’d have enough to pay for it all
an older lady came over and asked if I’d mind her giving us a box of weetabix and another large box of Cheerios as they where bogof and she would eat them all in time
saved breakfast for a week
(god bless that lady)
