Lip Balm Recommendations 👄

I have chronic dry, flaky and sore lips and I must have spent £££ over the years trying to find a lip balm which sorts it out all!

I’ve tried Carmex/Blistex but the medicated ones seem to irritate my lips. I also think anything with beeswax in it triggers a reaction so Burts Bees is a no go! I’m currently using Weleda Skin Food Lip Balm which is nice for about 30 minutes but then the dryness comes back!

I drink lots of water throughout the day so I don’t think I’m de-hydrated. I’ve thought about going to my GP as this is something I’ve had all my life but I doubt I’ll get seen this year with it!

Any tips/lip balm advice welcome!

I love dr paw paw but when my lips are really dry and sore I put honey on them and leave it to soak in then gently rub off the dead skin with a flannel/ damp towel.

I get dry lips and I really like the Nivea original lip balm. It's the best affordable lip balm IMO and isn't medicated/doesn't contain beeswax.

This will sound odd but lansinoh nipple balm is the best thing I’ve used for cracked lips. You can buy it in Boots for around £6 fir a small tube.
It contains lanolin so don’t try if if you’re allergic

Literally just coming on to say that. Whenever I put some on to feed my babies I put a bit on my lips too and any other other dry areas

Get a lip scrub and overnight lip mask.... the lush lip scrubs are lovely! And not too pricey. Revolution do a overnight lio mask for £5.00. If you want something higher end, laniege lip mask 👌🏻 Or Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream is unreal for chapped lips. The one in the tube 👌🏻 Would last forever too xxxxx

Highly recommend the little tin of pure 100% shea butter from L'Occitane! I think it's £8 but nothing else moistures quite like it. I use it on dry patches on my nose and hands too throughout winter. Lovely stuff 🥰

It‘s expensive for a balm, but i SWEAR on the glossier balm dotcom. It’s not a lip balm as such, you can use it on most areas of the body, so maybe that’s why? (also heard, like a PP, that lip balms actually dry the lips out - I can see it! Ran out of my glossier balm so switched to carmex and I swear my lips go dry and peel more now than they did when I was using the glossier!)

I was on accutane and the only thing that got me through was Eucerin Aquaphor! juicy plump pain free lips 👄

The Lemonaid Lanolips is also gorgeous ☺

Lypsyl in the blue tube is the only thing works really consistently for me. Cheap and cheerful. 8 hour cream is good too

I third the lansinoh nipple cream. Use it more on my lips than nips 🤣 it’s super thick and a little goes a long way.

My husband is now very worried :ROFLMAO:

I agree that Vaseline and the others totally make your lips worse.

Thanks for the tip!

Lemonaid Lanolips x 10000000000

honestly it’s amazing. Don’t own any other lip balms now. If you have dry cracked lips it genuinely sorts them out within a day
