thinking how i felt when i first started uni i did not know a single person obviously it was different as we could all go out and socialise but I'd find it really hard and lonely to be sat in my room alone while she's going out with her other friends like why didn't they invite her flatmates out with them...kind of rude considering she had her friends over in their flat

Hahahaha I was just gonna say this but also she’s clearly not social distancing with anyone so why is a mask gonna help if you’re hugging everyone

Just watched the Vlog and it seems like she’s actually trying to make friends but why did she go knocking on the flats doors upstairs and downstairs to ask about the oven when she facetimed her mum anyway? I do feel sorry for all freshers rn it isn’t the same

Actually think she’s been quite honest in her moving in vlog, good of her to mention it’s overwhelming and not try and pass it off as being totally fine- I know I felt the exact same way when I moved into halls and would’ve appreciated hearing that at the time

yeah same I watched the whole thing and I actually enjoyed seeing how real she’s being about it all like you can tell she really wants to make friends but I just can’t believe she knocked on 2 people’s door to try and find out how to work the oven and no one answered hahahahahaha

Agreed, it’s easy to say she should be initiating stuff and knocking on doors etc. But in reality it’s just not that easy, it’s a big transition, can be quite scary and depressing and not everyone’s blessed with warm outgoing flatmates..

Oh definitely! My flat mates left a lot to be desired social skills wise hahaha, luckily enough I already had people I knew in the City like Lidia has with Maddie- good luck to her I say!

lol I’ve just started my first year of university and I’m 17 and I definitely relate to Lidia saying she feels overwhelmed. Made me feel quite sorry of her since I’m not far from my family at all and she seems to be pretty close with all of hers

As someone said in the previous thread, she's missed out on all the exciting uni content she could have filmed. She was so late with her uni shopping vlog and in her newest one, only filmed the car journey and then picked up the camera the next day. I've just graduated and I remember in my first year, finding it really interesting and helpful to watch all the moving in uni vlogs and loved seeing an empty room tour, unpacking and family reactions etc. I’m sure it was all really overwhelming so fair enough but I can’t believe she missed all of that out. I’ve seen youtubers channels grow and get really popular from uni content alone so this really could’ve been a big break for her (to branch away from her samey s&c content) so she really missed the mark in my opinion.

Just watching her moving vlog now and to her credit it was refreshing to see her get a bit emotional at the start as i was expecting her to make it seem like everything was amazing and be very superficial.
When i first moved out I really missed my whole family and found it hard to put myself out of my comfort zone and meet new people. so i guess if she sticks with her influencer friends i can’t give her that much grief, as i know how difficult it is to put yourself out there, especially when she already has friends in manc so there’s no real incentive to make more.
that being said i hope she gives her new flatmates a chance as she said they were really lovely girls, although i can’t imagine her sitting in a communal uni kitchen drinking £4 wine🤣
