Has anyone ever written a letter to an ex partner, or friend who is no longer in your life?

Yes, to my estranged sister and I’ve also text and emailed her but all have been ignored.
It’s tough because I hoped for a reply and an opportunity to talk things through with her and to see if we can repair our relationship but she doesn’t want to, clearly. So I have to accept that and move on without her, I still hope that one day we’ll be in touch.
Writing a letter can be cathartic as you can release a lot of emotions and say how you feel but sometimes not sending it to the person can be just as helpful, especially if you think it will be badly received or ignored. So maybe write it but don’t send it...?
