My hubby is having a knee replacement next month, just asking if anyone has had it done or knows of anyone who has had it?
I've read about it online, can take up to 3 months for recovery? The main thing I've read is you must do the exercises, just wondering how anyone who's had it coped post operation? Thanks

My husband had both his replaced, it’s a pretty sore operation and the downtime for him was around 4 months, and yes absolutely do exactly what the recovery plan indicates

My Dad had both done, about a year apart. He’s retired so work wasn’t an issue but he was pretty much back to normal after 6 weeks. He has 2 big labs who needed walked so that motivated him. Defo make sure he does the exercises. He will likely be in pain the first week or so but it will get better if he helps himself.

Thank you all for replies, apart from the financial aspect, we have put by some saving to help, I think the next thing is he's going to get so bored! He really isn't one to just sit still all the time, he'll be itching to get out into his workshop!

Hubby ended up having half knee replacement, he was in and out of hospital the same day!
He's never experienced so much pain and we've had to ask for more pain killers as they really didn't give him enough. Anyways, he went to local surgery to have staples out, the nurse was pleased how it was healing, but he had an appointment for physio the next day which we both was too soon, but he went. Long story short, it started bleeding and leaking, so now he's got a vacuum pump which soaks it up and has to go back again next week.
The physio said he must do the exercises, his leg is that bandaged he can't even bend it, so this is going to set him back, he's really fed up now. Sorry for long post was wondering if anyone has had this experience?
