My daughter is obsessed with Katseye - we watched the Netflix documentary about their creation and I personally found it quite uncomfortable to watch. I loved the X factor and Making the Band type shows back in the day, but i thought the highly produced and manufacturing of groups was well and truly a thing of the past. These girls were worked so hard and scrutinised for years about absolutely every detail of their performances. Manon should never have got a place in the group but for some reason her place seemed secure even with her “poor behaviour” at times.

I have gone away and watched a few clips of their music.

There is a very weird sexual vibe to their more recent costumes and that pinky song. Not even sexy, just a bit grubby and sad. It doesn't look good on them.

They seemed to be really struggling with singing and doing the choreography at the same time in some live clips as well.

They all seem talented, but the material and costumes they are given seems bizarre. It is like they want then to just be a meme group/novelty act.

I’ve got a 9 year old and she’s not a fan but she has girls in her class going around singing internet girl. Lots of inuendo in that song, so much to the point that the teacher has banned katseye along with Sabrina carpenter, “6,7” malarkey and chicken jockey. I know there are some other ones too.

I know they’re a manufactured pop group and it’s been happening since groups came around but damn if their music is a bit meh. You can see they have talent but the management suck the soul out of them. Apparently no one is buying tickets for the US tour so that “may” get cancelled or certain dates. The European one is doing better

You may be thinking of the Pussycat Dolls here, as that's the situation they're in! I don't think Katseye have tour dates out atm.

I feel a bit old for them but I’m a lifelong girl band fan so have loved seeing them become successful.

I think they’re all really talented but the music could be a lot better.

Lots of drama with the Manon “hiatus” too.

I know what you mean, that k pop format seems torturous. But it does show in their performances, theyre so in sync and charismatic.

I’m not sure what I think of Manon, she definitely has the it factor and the group doesn’t seem quite right without her. I think she’s managed to keep up really well with the others considering she was never a dancer.

But with the amount of breaks she’s had, it’s clear something else is going on. To me it’s obvious she’s left and can’t say it yet. But k pop fans say people have had year long hiatuses before.

My little sister and her friends love this group. I decided to check out their new song/mv and their image is very sexualised (which is completely fine, they’re adults and can express themselves how they like) but the songs are quite immature and silly and they seem to have a big fanbase of tweens. I guess I’m just confused what their target market is?

Very unlikely, the hiatus statement said she'll be reassessed in September and the tour starts on the 1st. Her mum also said she doesn't know when she'll be back, just that she will be.

My niece absolutely loves them and I have had to listen to their songs everyday ahha and the choreography she does all the time. I like some of their songs like touch, game boy and a few others tbf they are catchy. I think their concept is a bit all over the place nothing is wow it seems a bit random or just for the trend/to go viral. I am biased and when I was my niece's age I loved and grew up with 2ne1, Big Bang, 2PM that era. I am seeing Big bang soon and 12 year old me is screaming inside as I never thought I would get to see a kpop group. I wonder what is in store for the group and its members as its never a good sign when members leave or go on hiatus, but great if its taking care of their wellbeing and mental health.

I do think they need rest and to look after wellbeing. But maybe the tour wasn't a good idea or cancelling ahead of time would be better. I know not great but people could maybe get refunds on travel and accommodation. But if they do reschedule that may mean a lot of people won't be able to go to the new date.

Maybe then I'd finally get tickets via resale
