The man who sexually abused me as a child and swore to everyone he didn’t, is now suffering from cancer. I do believe in karma

If Karma is real how can we explain good people who are dealt blow after blow by life? Or children getting ill? I see too many evil people living their best life. Look at Jimmy Saville, lived and died a "hero" after all he did, only after his death did his crimes become public knowledge but he never had to face the consequences while his innocent victims will live with it their whole lives.

I don't believe in karma at all . I think it is a made up concept.
Bad things happen in life and they usually have nothing to do with any wrongdoing someone has previously done. This is not to be confused with consequences, which are often likely to happen.
If something is to be considered karma ,I think it should be instant, for example if someone stole someone's wallet then accidentally dropped it down the drain.

I'm not sure that's Karma. Everyone does things they regret, we're allowed to make mistakes, you've recognised and acknowledged yours, it doesn't mean you deserve to be treated badly by your husband. Has he made you feel like you somehow deserve it? If so then that's abusive behaviour and it's not acceptable.

Karma exists. It may even skip a generation, you might not pay for your karmic debt because your future child will instead I’m really into spiritually and karma is one of the laws of the universe it’s very real

To be honest this is a very difficult question as it can be triggering to so many people and nobody has the full answer because none of us are God but in my opinion the first mistake to make is too assume that a child is innocent, in our eyes yes a child is innocent of course but from a religious point as humans, all of us must participate in the horrible side of humanity, which includes the tragedy of disease because we were born sinners.
So yes, in my personal opinion in this case the childs purpose is complete. To make the parent/childs community appreciate life more (in my opinion). Have you seen Soul yet? on Disney? I really recommend you watch it, cancer is a horrible disease but the child is no longer suffering so that is a blessing to the child in the end. The child is now in paradise surrounded by their Angels. If you're religious/spiritual, then once you've grieved you'd be happy that an innocent soul gets to live in their paradise forever without having to experience this evil world. This is what I believe and I know many other people disagree with me but theres tones of research on your question from theologists that could be more accurate than me

I believe in karma and I’ve got two stories to back it up.
1) I once found an iPhone in my local shopping centre. My first thought was “ooo sell it & you’ll get £150!” But then I thought nooo, it’s got photos and someone will beside themselves etc etc. So I handed it in to the centre and posted it all over Facebook and local groups on Facebook. It got returned back to its rightful owner. A couple of days later, I went to bingo and I was on a MASSIVE LOSING streak every time I went but it turned around that night & won £150!!
2) I was going for a job promo- extra responbility, different job title but no extra money. I was 99% in a strong position to get it. A couple of days later, I went on a night out and broke my leg (lol) because it was retail, I had to have 6+ weeks off & I couldn’t apply for it. Then when I returned to work, it was hard at first knowing that one chance to climb up the ladder was gone BUT a few weeks later, a management team left so they offered the role but this time with more money. Applied and got it.

I agree, the fact that good people suffer because of their parents is literally the shittest thing ever but you still do have the power to change it, you can sit there and complain about it or get up and take control, you can make the effort to break the generational curse. And in my opinion suffering isn't always about karma, it could also be about what frequency you're vibrating on.
The law of vibration is just as harsh as karma, when you're vibrating on a low frequency you attract horrible things, your friend might not be experiencing karma at all, it could be that her chakras are not aligned so she's just experiencing one horrible thing after another. Your thoughts are creating waves in your life. Just as a ripple moves out on the tide and comes back in a wave, so your thoughts come back to you. For that reason, you want to choose thoughts that are working for you, not against you. We know that our thoughts are expressions of our feelings and we know that when we think about something we love, we feel good on the inside. We also know what it’s like to be plagued by something in our past. If we continue to think about it, we can be led into a state of deep despair and attract even more terrible things, hence why abusers tend to target vulnerable people. Raising your vibes includes replacing the old thoughts you have about yourself and your life with better ones "Protect your peace". Again, your friend might not be experiencing karma she may just need to raise her vibration. When you change your thoughts, you change your world.

If your friend is an amazing person she is suffering because of her thoughts. Her thoughts are controlling her life not karma. She needs to move from vibrating on a low frequency to vibrating on a higher one.
To answer about Jimmy Saville, all those people didn't deserve his abuse but whose to say he didn't pay the price? He was never married, didn't find love/have children or a family his wiki page describes him as a "lifelong bachelor" who sexually abused people and to sexually, mentally or physically abuse any living thing means you are very unhappy. You have to be EXTREMELY unhappy within yourself to harm another person. Being unhappy leads you to project your unhappiness onto others, which is what he did. Maybe to us it doesn't seem like he got the karma he deserved because we saw him live a lavish life and people worshipped him but I believe he paid his karma because the life he lived was lonely, he died unhappy.
Going back to Karma, the video I posted before explains how your ancestors actions can affect you now, it could be ancestors from 1000 years ago but its not like there's nothing you can do about it. Breaking the generational curse is possible, you can ask for forgiveness as well as asking for protection from spirit guides/angels/ancestors (whatever you want to call it)

It's a funny thing, many people thumb their noses at doing the right thing and living the right way for most of their lives, and then on their death beds comes the epiphany. "I'm afraid to die, I've behaved very badly in this life". Hospice nurse after hospice nurse will tell you that one.

I have a question if you don't mind? So each person doesn't pay their own Karmic debt, their children might instead? Example - man lives his life doing wrong to others, man has a child, child is diagnosed with cancer and dies at 3 years old. So was the child's sole purpose on earth to repay the Karmic debt of his Father? The father suffers the loss of his child and so gets his Karma but the child himself suffered too so what did he do to deserve it? Not being smart, genuinely asking how it works in a case where an innocent child suffers.

I can believe in the accumulated consequences of one's actions (positive or negative) over a lifetime or even many lifetimes. Not "you did something bad so now the universe will get you back"

I believe in karma as it is described in Buddhism/Hinduism. Not as in some kind of cosmic payback system

Thanks for your explanation. I know people, good people who've lost children and I suppose I struggle to comprehend the idea that they may have somehow done something to deserve it. I work with children with Down Syndrome and they are so pure, so innocent, literally incapable of hurting another person, the absolute personification of love and yet they and their families suffer. I've always wanted an explanation for it. I haven't seen the film you've mentioned but I will.
If Karma is about justice and getting what you deserve I also find it hard to understand why a good person would have to pay for the sins of their parents? I mentioned Jimmy Saville as an example earlier, he didn't pay the price for the crimes he committed, who will pay for what he did and why is it fair that they should? Or do you think he will pay in the afterlife?
Sorry for all the questions, someone close to me is going through hell atm, she is absolute salt of the earth and I suppose it got me thinking about Karma and why bad things happen to good people.
