Is anyone following the trial for his alleged hate crime hoax?

What are your thoughts?

Mine are is that I've never flip flopped on my own opinion so much during a news story but I think he's guilty. I fear he is going to get away with it though.

The bleep is guilty as sin. It was just his connections to Obama admin and the timing of the BLM bandwagon etc that saved his bacon back then.
Time to pay the price for a totally disgusting farce that had normally respectable and sensible people screaming about a homophobic/racist attack that was actually concocted in Smollett's brain as a means to raise his profile in his telly show and up his wages in Empire.
Left the house at 2am in -16 degrees temperature ... for a sandwich. Gimme a break.

Comedian Dave Chappelle had him sussed from the get go and pissed on his parade big time.

Jussie's lawyer soundsl like she is as dodgy as Jussie. She claims the judge "lunged" at her when they were alone, demanded a mistrial which was rejected, then cried and left the room with her mother while the court was still in session! What lawyer behaves like that! All because she didn't like someone putting a stop to her line of questioning!

They're all insane. I mean it. Because of the tensions around that time ... the Trump hate and the BLM stuff ... a lot of people lost their marbles entirely.
There was a huge tsunami of jumping in feet first on anything that had even the tiniest whiff of racism or homophobia. Enter Jussie.
Most of the main characters driving the Jussie bandwagon were and still are, POC and something other than plain old boring heterosexual. They leapt to his defence without looking at the facts realistically and gave him a bye ball by calling in favours in high places to get the cops to back off looking closely at Smollett himself. At this point his cheer leaders should be :unsure: "hmm, I think ole Jussie just made bleeps of us. I think I'll just tiptoe quietly outta here and hope nobody notices" , but I'll be damned if they're not bleeping doubling down,:oops: refusing to concede even one inch of ground as if it was some hugely important battle and a hill they will die on. It isn't.
It is a greedy b who resented not getting the raise and the more important script, so he crushed up some headache pills and sent it in a stupid drawing of a lynching to the producers. For fox sake Empire is a black show, there are no 'whiteys' to impress with that tit. OK, so he upped the ante with his lil drama at 2am, in -16 windchill in a polar vortex in Chicago.🥶 Because he had the munchies. Then drifted around his apartment to greet the cops still wearing the rather fetching white haberdashery cord that was supposed to represent a hangmans noose. Good grief, if Albert Pierrepoint had used that stuff nobody would ever had been hung because it would have snapped.
Honestly, it's nuts that he's still pushing this bullshit, and more nuts that he has backing who are determined to force the world to believe this shite.

I will never understand why he did this. How stupid do you have to be to throw everything away like this?? Even if it didn't come out when it did, he should've known the people involved would've told someone eventually

Jussie Smollett has taken the witness stand in his own defense against charges that he arranged a phony hate crime on himself one frigid night in January 2019.

Smollett also testified about how important his face was to his career - indicating that he never would have purposely gotten his face messed up.

OK so he'll only get a slap on the wrist fine but his name is now officially mud. He'll never work again , especially with such a well known stupid name (sorry mummy smollett).
Disappointed that BLM continued to back his innocence. Never mind the fact that gay men will now be even less inclined to report assaults because of this bleep's self entitled antics.

can't believe the garbage story he came up with in an effort the throw the Osundairo brothers under the bus, which confuses me also, we have BLM giving it justice for Jussie, meanwhile I assume that means they were perfectly happy for these guys to be charged and do time, and of course it could have been in no way racist at that point as the brothers are Nigerian.

Nah Jussie thought that by accusing his attackers as shouting racism/homophobia this is MAGA country (Detroit? Hmm) and wearing red baseball caps that he would be feted and believed, which he was initially and it was because the police were doing their jobs properly and fully investigating it that he got caught. The backtracking by his supporters, yeah the cops lie, they're racist..erm many of the officers in Detroit are POC so that doesn't add up and all it does is sets any any necessary change backwards..what a twit.

Oh he's getting plenty of stick now that he's been found guilty. Previously people were reluctant to say anything but now people are fired up openly and giving him both barrels.
A good point made by many is disgust that BLM are cheerleading him but don't give a shiny tit about the two black brothers he's throwing under the bus in all this. So their support for black people is looking rather selective.

I shouldn't say it but his family annoy the tit out of me with that exaggerated nose in the air swagger they do when escorting him in and out of court. It makes them look like dicks who think this whole thing is just beneath them.

BLM are as farcical and fraudulent as he is, so it doesn't surprise me they're still championing him. That's the real tragedy of 'intersectionality' or 'oppression' grifters such as him, SmegMa, Colin Kaepernick, Bubba Wallace, Amber Heard (white, but plays the female and bisexual cards), Demi Lovato (white, but co-opts as many oppressed identities as possible) etc: the more they cry wolf, the more they undermine the genuine struggles of the people they claim to represent.

No doubt. That's what this was all about in the first place. He wanted more money. $65,000 per episode was not enough for the greedy b so he wanted to be "The famous gay guy who got beat up. So brave, so handsome. Worth a pay rise".
So yeah, he will make money in some way but his name will still be tit.
