He persuaded people to access Restricted documents and released them which put agents at risk. Whether or not you agree with the reasons for him doing it it was highly illegal and he knew the consequences.

According to the Mueller Report, the Russians fed stolen information to WikiLeaks for publication, which is even worse.

Decision to not extradite has been overturned by the high court. One step closer to being handed over to the states although that still wouldn't happen anytime soon with appeals pending.
