Joe Biden - The 46th President of the United States

In the tradition of Donald Trump - The 45th President of the United States.

Well, not even a full week yet and Joe and Democrats have been busy.

Biden’s inauguration wasn’t enjoyed by all Democrats, as Tara Reade, former Senate staffer to Biden, relayed her pain at watching the man who’d sexually assaulted her assume the highest US office. The Democratic party, fierce defenders of women’s rights during Trump’s administration, she described as “complicit with sexual misconduct” and that within the MSM “certain media outlets made it so clear that I was to be smeared, ignored, and erased.”

The National Guard troops, deployed to protect the capitol in what many considered a piece of political theatre, weren’t overjoyed either, as once the photo-op was over and done with, they were left to bed down on the floor of a parking lot. There were no riots at the inauguration, but there were left wing riots in Seattle and Portland, with Antifa vandalising the Democratic party HQ. However, this particular insurrection wasn’t something the President and senior Democrats deigned worthy of commenting on.

But duly sworn in, Biden wasted no time firing off his Executive Orders. He needed to refer to notes to explain what they were, not only to the public and reporters, but disconcertingly enough, it looked like to himself as well, or so it appeared at times during his press conferences.

As an aside, folks may remember that in 2017 Executive Orders were a bad thing, which was puzzling as Trump issued less than Obama did in his first week in office, but in 2021 they’re back again to being mere government business and reported on as such without mention of bypassing Congress or dictatorial edicts.

So Biden caused his first furore by rescinding Trump’s transgender rule for bathrooms (which rescinded Obama’s mandate) and expanding his decree to force any educational institution in receipt of government funding to accept biologically-male students to women’s scholarships and sports teams, all on the basis of “gender identity”. Great news for a fraction of a percentage of the population, but bad news for a great swathe of women who voted for Biden.

Equally unhappy were the labour unions who threw in their support behind Biden's presidential bid, for him then on Wednesday to cancel the Keystone XL pipeline and put at least 11,000 of their members out of jobs. Canada, not noted for its fondness of Trump, was also unhappy. Serious financial investment had been made from the Canadian side on the basis of previously issued legal permits, and law suits are expected to follow from Biden’s action.

It then emerged on Thursday that ICE and the US Border Patrol were thrown into chaos due to Biden’s big policy change and sweeping directive calling for a 100-day pause in deportations and followed by a subsequent email directing officials to “Release them all, immediately. No sponsor available is not acceptable any longer." This email is supposed to have emanated from Biden, going way above and beyond the Executive Order, but failing to include any details of how the policy was to be enacted, leaving officials in the dark and scrambling for information.

Against this backdrop, Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene filed articles of impeachment alleging abuse of power against Biden the day after his inauguration, stating in an interview that, "We cannot have a President of the United States that is willing to abuse the power of the presidency and be easily bought off by foreign governments, Chinese energy companies, Ukrainian energy companies."

This was largely ignore or scoffed at in the MSM, but the US Senate Committee on Homeland Security on Governmental affairs report into 'Hunter Biden, Burisma, and Corruption: The Impact on U.S. Government Policy and Related Concerns' has been released and the bottom line is this:

report-biden.jpg

Which does lend some weight to bringing articles of impeachment, to say the least.

Trump vacating the Presidency to Sinatra’s ‘I Did It My Way’ brought ridicule from the usual corners of the MSM, but it might have been more appropriate to have left the White House to the strains of another Sinatra classic: ‘Send In The Clowns’.

Oh, nearly forgot the biggest one! Biden campaigned on having a plan to get the Covid pandemic under control... and then said there's nothing he can do.

Which pissed even more people than the above combined.

I've spoken to a couple of American families who live in the UK, while delivering their shopping this week (there are huge communities of them where I live because of some military bases that the US use). They are fearful for America under Biden and very happy to be located here in the UK for the forseeable future.

I am surprised how much power Pelosi seems to have, does it really matter who's president when she seems to be the one in charge sometimes .

Marjorie Taylor Greene has zero credibility. The calls for her to resign are getting louder by the day.

Ah well, that's understandable, as the military, that left-over tool of white colonial oppression, is pro-Trump. So pro-Trump in fact, that one Democratic Congressman suggested members of the National Guard might "do something" to Biden at his inauguration 🤣 He seemed to think the National Guard were going to go Indira Gandhi on Biden  Even the Washington Post called that out as idiotic.

Speaking of the Washington Post, they're retiring their presidential fact-checker, as they're 'assuming' Biden will be like Obama, and thus it won't be necessary - presumably because the media outlet believes Saint Obama to be the only politician other than George Washington to never tell a lie 🤡

If a fact-checker was needed for Trump, it's sure needed for Biden, too!

But maybe not, I suppose, if you're coming from a place of bias at best, malice at worst, rather than one of journalistic integrity.

You could be right... but that Homeland Security report on Hunter Biden looks like it has more credibility than the Steele dossier, and if the Steele dossier was credible enough to warrant a two year investigation into election tampering and the integrity of the 45th POTUS, then I say "have away" :)

What a disgusting man. Kaitlan Collins is one of the best in the business and still young in comparison to others too. She follows the presidents wherever they go and isn't afraid of asking tough questions as she always did to Trump. Yet not even Donald reacted to her in such an aggressive manner and his apology seemed half assed.

I know bush and trump have given some terrible speeches, but bidens last night takes the biscuit for me. Absolutely shameful.

Possibly unfair to compare them as the previous presidents haven't had to speak following the biggest failing in decades, but still.

It might have been popular to pull out, but not at all costs with this national embarrassment and innocent people thrown to the wolves.

The way he walked out answering no questions as the room erupted 😐

Yep, his response been less than impressive, and that is putting it mildly.
I can’t imagine what’s going on behind the scenes.

Andrew Neil today articulates it quite well

The speech that shamed America: Its contemptible dishonesty would have made Donald Trump blush. Now, this blistering analysis by ANDREW NEIL asks - how can the liberals' hero Joe Biden ever recover?
46811453-0-image-m-1_1629275209986.jpg

ANDREW NEIL: It was the most contemptible speech by a U.S. president in modern times - a speech that shames America and leaves its global reputation in the dirt. And given that, until last January, the White House was occupied for four years by a certain Donald J. Trump (bottom inset), there couldn't be a more damning criticism of President Joe Biden (left, right). Much of his address to the U.S. on Monday was Orwellian. In his classic novel 1984, set in a totalitarian dystopia, George Orwell created a Ministry of Peace which waged war, a Ministry of Truth which peddled lies, a Ministry of Love which tortured dissidents and a Ministry of Plenty which oversaw starvation. Biden matched all of that and more with his own defiant doublethink, involving distortions, the rewriting of history, and nonsense and untruths that even Trump would struggle to rival. His abject surrender to the Taliban was dressed up as political reality and common sense. His scuttle from Kabul, still ongoing, was depicted as geopolitical wisdom and a refocusing of U.S. priorities. Any mistakes or problems were the fault of others, from Trump to the Afghan army.

Oh but I thought Joe Biden was going to be the answer to the problems of everything everywhere! What on earth went wrong?

Good summary there by Andrew Neil. I agree that Biden's speech was repulsive and deeply shameful.

It's very odd watching what's happening in the US. It really is like watching an empire in decline in real time as horrendous foreign policy decisions are coupled with an internal culture war and a movement that's determined to undermine American values under the guise of open borders, antiracism and "equity". The fact that Twitter banned Trump but didn't manage to ban the Taliban says it all really. China and Russia are just as powerful as the US and much more focused on acting purely out of their own national interests. I really do wonder if the West has seen its day, and we're all now on a downward decline towards a very different kind of future.

This is a very good discussion on the current and future state of the US that correlates with my own deep concern about the US (I am a US / UK citizen who spent many years in the US, mainly in the glorious 90s when the US really was THE global superpower). The summary of this discussion is that the future is not lost, but the media, big tech, education and politics has to be completely overhauled, which is no mean feat. Honestly I'm usually quite optimistic but today my heart is sinking about the future. I just don't know who will protect and uphold US values if the President doesn't and at the same time so many Americans feel let down but their failure to achieve the American dream that it makes sense why so many particularly younger people are so easily ideologically brainwashed by the socialist / EDI agenda.

All that aside, I'm guessing Biden's ability to stay in the White House now depends on whether the operation to get Americans out as fast as possible succeeds. Even so his "brand" feels pretty toxic at this point, especially with increasing inflation and the decision to hobble US oil production in favour of OPEC.

Someone's updated his election campaign branding, to replace the three red lines that made up the "E" ...

This whole thing has been a terrible mess. I know the decision to withdraw was taken by Obama and then Trump, but the actual mechanics of the withdrawal (Biden) have been a disaster. And it’s really exposed him. I’m beginning to think it’s true that he’s not in control of his faculties - what sort of President, in a situation like this, doesn’t take questions at a press conference and turns his back on journalists?

I genuinely thought Biden being the one to follow after Trump will make him look like a little god perception-wise, but oh boy, he is failing big time. And it pisses me off how desperate some anti-Trump-ers try to defend him. Biden being crap doesnt mean that Trump was great, you know?

“Where are the people in our academic medicine that were out there calling for President Trump to have a cognitive test? Where are these people?” Former White House physician Ronny Jackson, who served in the role under both Presidents Obama and Trump.

Probably to be found the same place as the folks here that showed so much passionate concern in the Trump threads, which seems to have deserted them now it's Biden 🤷‍♀️

It astounds me at the ‘best’ of times how America prides itself on being a Christian country whilst continually and constantly rejecting Christ’s teachings and this has never been more apparent to me than through the utter shitstorm playing out in Afghanistan right now. Okay, I totally get that the families of service men and women are sick of seeing their loved ones coming home mamed or in body bags, however, if you freely sign up to serve in the military of the world’s richest and largest super power one surely would be fully aware of the job description and the risks involved. That’s harsh, I know, but if you employ Christian thinking then to lay down your life to protect many more is the greatest act of Christian love there is. Actually, Ieaving religion aside - because of course not everyone in the US military will be Christian or even religious - American lives are not worth more than Afghan lives and by pulling out of the country in such a shambolic fashion is a barbaric act and one that is filling me with disgust. The responses to Biden on Twitter from Americans lauding how many they’ve evacuated over the last days is also beyond the pale. As poor Pen Farthing said last night, the US had the largest and most secure military air base on the world in Afghanistan up until two weeks ago. If they’d delayed decommissioning it, or started the evacuation sooner using their base, they and the allied forces could’ve got everyone eligible out safely, securely and without the heartbreaking loss of life we saw yesterday. Also, Joe Biden changing the goalposts on the paperwork required to get people out at the eleventh hour. What a bellend! He’s condemned thousands of men, women, children and animals to certain death and yet there he’ll be on Sunday, heading to Mass with the media in tow to show what a fine, upstanding Christian he is. Such a bleeping hypocrite and absolutely no better than his predecessor.

I could not agree with you more. Thank you for articulating it so well. I’m an atheist but totally agree with your analysis.
An earlier poster also suggested we may be witnessing the demise of an empire and I honestly hold that view too.
today’s comments from Biden about ‘hunting down and finding’ those responsible for the Kabul blasts yesterday are just empty words and political posturing. America is far from great. Again.
Edited to say it was a poster on another thread who said the empire was falling (the Afghanistan one, perhaps). I’m sorry to confuse but my comments still stand ☺
