Jeans for petite women

I'm 4'11, around a size 10-12 and find it almost impossible to find any jeans that aren't too long on the UK highstreet/online. Even the petite ranges only cater for women at around 5'3. Not even mentioning the pretty trousers that don't even come in a variety of leg sizes - we're not all 5'8 Boohoo, PLT etc! I want some flared jeans and usually go for M&S jeans but the 'short' length was still inches too long. I don't want to pay for jeans AND pay to have them altered as £30-40 for a pair of jeans isn't cheap for me without the added cost of having the legs taken up. I used to be able to buy from the kids section but then lockdown happened:censored:. I don't mind that I've put on a bit of weight and I'm expecting it to slowly drop off now that I'm not spending my days doing uni work in bed with only a walk as outdoor entertainment as I was a year ago. I am more disheartened that nothing I own fits properly and I can't even find anything to replace them with. Tiny tattlers - help please!♥

Hi, I've a couple of inches on you, 5ft 1 and that wee half inch. Topshop? Before Debenhams closed I discovered principles jeans, bought a few pairs in petite. Dorothy perkins petite were good but again its closed. I've my eye on levis at the moment but haven't worn them for years. I feel your pain x

What length are you looking for? I am 5’3’’ and wear a 30 inch inside leg, Primark sell 28’’ inside leg jeans

I actually haven't measured my leg - I always mean to and then forget. I used to wear the primark skinny jeans in 28" and they were an almost perfect fit but I don't wear skinny jeans really anymore and all of the other styles are just in one standard leg length.

I'm 4ft 9 and a half and get mine taken up five inches 😳 (H&M curvy jeggings - not petite) Only costs a tenner at my local dry cleaners, which is a good job, as I'm steadily losing weight and going through the sizes.

At least that way, I get them exactly the length I want them.

I always buy mine from BonMarche, not a popular shop on Tattle but their jeans are a brilliant fit for me. The leg lengths start at 25" - never seen them that short before and the sizes are 10 - 28 with a choice of styles.

I'll shop anywhere me if I see something I like. The supermarkets are definitely upping their game with pieces that cater towards girls in their late teens/early 20s as well as more mature ladies 😅 that's somewhere I'd never think to look but definitely an amazing shout. Just thinking where my local Bonmarche is now:D

They have closed down in quite a few towns but I have 2 near to where I live. :)

I buy Wallis "Scarlett' jeans. These are cropped jeans for summer but at 5ft, the length is perfect

New Look an primark for me, am only 5ft, I do usually wear super skinny though, I find I don't have any problems with them with fitting in perfect length, maybe because of the design of them but they work great for me

Im a few inches shorter than you and I wear these without them being altered. Petite has a 27inch inside leg but you can get away with it because they are so skinny too. I’ll also add that I’ve had them a few years now without having any wear holes etc in them. Really comfy. Im a 12 myself and I’ve never had such a good pair of jeans.

Thanks for the help so far ladies💖I’m pretty sound for skinny jeans as I don’t really wear them and just get the primark 28” if I do. I mostly struggle with finding flares/wide leg jeans and trousers that aren’t for giants and that don’t completely swamp someone petite. I used to trust H&M but I find their stores are always a mess and the zip completely broke on a pair I bought after a couple of months. I usually always buy jeans in the shop so I can try them on before wasting my time but I’m happy to buy online seeing as I’ve had no luck so far really. One day I’ll give up and go back to the skinny side!

I agree with one of the posters above in saying River Island - they only do petite in their larger stores but they have quite a lot online. I'm 5'1" and only buy their short length rather than petite/extra short as I find them a little bit too short even for me so for your height I think they'd be perfect.

I've given up with places like PLT as even the petite trousers trail on the floor!

I’m short with skinny legs so a lot of jeans just don’t have a good fit - I always go for skinny jeans otherwise I feel quite boxy. But I’ve always bought from new look kids section. They’re cheaper and genuinely have a much better fit.

I buy all mine from Primark because I need a size 4.
I've had size 4s from River Island and New Look online (think ASOS also do them) - sadly the RI ones only come in extra short and I need short and the NL ones were far too small though!
