Exactly this! This isn't like most missing person cases. Jay's whereabouts was confined to a very small area. I can't understand why Jay's family/friends weren't out scouring that area. Unless there was nefarious elements at play, Jay could only have been up on the mountain and obviously fell or succumbed to the elements. This was a time critical case - Jay could be lying hurt or unconscious, and depending on how long they delayed the search, could've made all the difference on whether he was found dead or alive. I can't understand how they weren't up there like a shot searching.
I agree that this is a concern. But I do think the answer is that these people are just pretty
crappy. Don’t have brain cells to rub together and therefore didn’t think in this manner. Instead they waited for authorities to sort it for them. I think their inaction tells me that they thought he was just lost and thought it would be resolved quickly.
I think the critical time he could have been found was wasted and it is abhorent of the family to have not been doing more.
A lot of people are struggling to understand the lack of motivation from the parents. But I guess that’s the thing that time will inform us more of. I think they are just genuinely crappy parents. I think the Dad is cut up about it. But the lack of input by the parents is damning.
Again, doesn’t make it criminal. Just speaks to stupid parents. Stupid parents raise stupid kids.
Also, the reaction to Tenerife seems misguided here. The main problems in the drug culture, the sellers and the buyers, are British. The truth is that British oversees rave culture is a blight. It isn’t harmless fun, it brings with it crime and violence. Tenerife knew they would suffer in PR so put in a fair shift to find him. Knowing they were unlikely to because of where he last went missing.
I imagine his remains will now be scatter by wildlife. At this point the likelihood of finding him in one peice is so minimal.
