I didn’t know it was a lesbian thing until somebody referenced it in the last thread, though it makes sense tbh. I’ll ask OH, she’s more active than I am but not carabiner level active… though I’ve also never seen her use a sieve…Can I ask a question to the Lesbians on the thread please?
In all innocence, is a carabiner an actually normally regarded gift for lesbians?
Until Jack suggested stringing a tea towel up with them I thought carabiner were just called 'D clips'
This Christmas I have had 3 different friends (all lesbians) post on social media about getting carabiners as Christmas presents and being thrilled. The accompanying quotes have been 'typical lesbian gifts' and I'm starting to think I've missed the cultural reference?
Tbf all.of these friends go hiking/rock climbing but I'm thinking I've missed the lesbian/rock climbing connection.
Apologies for stupid question but my family have just left after 3 days and I'm frazzled and the wine is just starting to hit....
Definitely replishouldn't, IMHOReplishan’t?
Please tell me the dog was saying "Daaaaaaaay-Oooooooh"Towards the end of the last thread, @StatusWoe asked about doing Jack as dogs so…well….here you go…

Just want to let it be known how happy I am to see karabiner spelled karabiner.Merry Christmas y’all! Yeee HAWWWW
Just want to let it be known how happy I am to see karabiner spelled karabiner. My obsessive climbing pals have only ever spelled it with a ‘k’ so I have always felt perturbed with the ‘c’.
also @MancBee : my two sons were gifted The Toothpaste by Santa and they are thrilled, so thank you - here’s some Jack smackers
(sorry mods for OT but its Christmas eh I shan’t do it again xxx)
This is EXACTLY how I felt about that suggestion! No !!! Jack could never be worthy of dogness![]()

Are you a lesbian though?Number of carabiners in use in my home: seven.
1 on car fob and for all keys. Perfect for separating house and car key sets for mechanic, travel etc
3 in a row on fence for tying ponies at their grooming station, an excellent actual "hack" for safety
1 on dog lead, holds keys and pooh bag bag
1 in dog bag in car in case of adventure
1 in bathroom drawer which holds hair bobbles!
I like being thrifty in the kitchen, and I love anchovies.
Who the hell am I?!
Help
As long as it's still pronounced "mother"Just want to let it be known how happy I am to see karabiner spelled karabiner.
As long as it's still pronounced "mother" - that's the important thing.
As you were.

This is EXACTLY how I felt about that suggestion!
Dogs are too wonderful to be "hi-Jacked"
The only person I've read about who could rely on the Kindness Of Strangers when setting about a long walk totally unprepared, was Harold Fry when he did his Unlikely Pilgrimage..Canal, I'm reading a bookabout walking and the writer has had lots of people recognise him along his route, clap, and thank him for all the good he does. He was also remarkably unprepared for his journey and relies on the goodwill of strangers a lot I'm quite disappointed as I normally enjoy a back to nature book and I also bought the sequel when kindle had it on offer.
I've not written it off yet, as I'm only about a quarter of the way through and it has had good reviews but I'm really struggling to like the writer and can't decide if it's the guest traits that are causing this.
The book is Finding Hildasay by Christian Lewis
What a beautiful sight. I name this work of art ''Grifter obscured by dog''.Towards the end of the last thread, @StatusWoe asked about doing Jack as dogs so…well….here you go…

Was it this one?Perhaps it’s the genre but I was on holiday once and the shelves had a book that looked interesting about adventuring but I put it down after the first chapter was essentially LOOKATMENOW BORBRA because this man had clearly been a horrendous little tit at school but now made his living climbing mountains or whatever.
Thinking about it, he probably owned a lot of carabiners too….
News item of the day: prematurely middle-aged smol pixie survives TWO YEARS of no fridge, lightbulbs, eating out of bins, etc. A decade later and she’d be a Squid Game contestantWas it this one?

ETA: (That’s actually a real book! Probably not one about the worlds most delightful tiny pixie scampering whoreably adorably around the posher parts of Southend bothering the bins tho ).
