I wonder if Jack was so invested in her relationship with Harold that both SB and her parents were completely swept aside. It was always her IL’s she was feeding, fawning over, nuzzling, playing footsie with, making Easter cakes for, dozing off on their sofas after a deliciously ordinary meal.
she isn’t arsed with her own parents unless she needs something.

I can’t work out how to quote the post you brought over but I totally agree with it. Whoever the new person in her life is becomes her fixation and her favourite person and she drops everyone around her like a stone.

Maybe this time her parents/someone else had finally had enough and that was the dressing down she’s had that’s led to her current behaviour.

To carry over from the last thread - ham is very typical in Ireland, and having it with chicken is normal. The butcher I used to go to in Dublin always did a special offer of a chicken and a ham joint together.

I thought these were the very definition of salad. Maybe with a splat of cottage cheese or coleslaw and bit of tinned pineapple, lovely! I'm still not used to salads being mixed and dressed!

So the gravy's was put on the plate, before the food, it was walked a mile, being carried, and it has not moved a millimetre. Must be ria's solid gravy, comes by the slice the potatoes and broccoli both look over cooked.

My pet theory is that Harold is a bit of a Captain Saveaho and she hopes that will get him to cape up and come back. All I'll say is Harold, it's like ripping off a plaster, it's scary, it hurts and don't go sticking it back down. One and done, big stuff.

A rock tumbler update from the Elastoblast residence. We got the bloody thing for the older Elastoblast junior at Christmas. Something I regret massively but he really wanted it so . In six months we have completed two of its four cycles because it's so fecking loud. It's supposed to run for 24 hrs a day for a week at a time. It's at the furthest end of the spite orangery (utility room) and I can hear it at the furthest end of the house. It's a horrible constant grinding noise and drives me barmy. I'm trying to steal myself to complete the process so Elastoblast junior can get his mitts on the "rock gems" within. A fiver says Jack gave up on the process long ago
