She's writing a book just for us! I feel so special!

I don't think anyone disputes that Jack was a call handler.

BTW when, exactly, with all this drama going on in 2011 was Jack hitting the gym for hours every day and getting super buff in a bid to become a firefighter?

This is the photo for the telegraph article. Looks very normal. Not like long Covid. Hair length looks recent though... dunno.

@HotesTilaire more about losing job with confusing time frames. If SB was only 6 months old she went back super early for a UK mum of a premature baby.

SMP is 39 weeks so she may have returned after the £ stopped, if he came 3 months early.

Yes, she said that she got calls from the nursery saying that no one collected him, that she was 30 miles away...
Pst - none of the above happened 🤥
Cor can’t believe her retired mum who probably lived near the nursery wasn’t the emergency contact.

Dress up day omg. I'm cringing 😂 But also furious about how she never corrects people when they assume she was on the front line with pics like this.

Excellent work Silver.
1. So this is just a stretched out version of 'Potatoes'. Oh Good-ee.
2. No matter how you twist it YOU RESIGNED.
3. That first page is just a day in the life of a parent. Give yourself a bleeping round of applause.
4. Thought you said that when you resigned from your hospital bed it was after being admitted following a suicide attempt? Now it's because you've got imaginary heart condition?
5. Don't actually believe any of it actually.
Sorry i know its just a small query but how could she be prescribed beta blockers so easily?
As i've mentioned on a previous post my gp voiced concerns over my irregular heart beat and i was booked in for hospital appointments and then they told me i had a problem with the aortic valve and then i had open heart surgery and if was only after having surgery than i was prescribed beta blockers which along with a low dosage of aspirin (to thin the blood) i will have to take for the rest of my life?
I could be wrong but if she is talking about having heart problems surely (as in my own case) only a cardiologist can diagnose the actual technicalities of the problem i.e what is causing it which area is affected and the need to prrscribe the right medicine based on pinpointing the origins of the problem?
I've never heard of a doctor just handing out beta blockers for a heart problem no the authority for that comes only from a cardiologist.
Unless beta blockers were prescribed for anxiety?
If they were then i don't really understand does she have a heart condition or not?
An irregular heartbeat is a cause for concern (thats what my lovely gp picked up on and got the ball rolling for further tests?) but as far as i'm aware the gp cannot prescribe beta blockers just for having that symptom alone (i could be wrong but as i said it is not in keeping with my experience)?
So where is the follow up from this then?
Heart problems need to be professionally evaluated you can't just throw it out there that you have a heart problem unless a cardiologist has made a diagnosis?
Its not a triffle or of little important its a life/game changer?
10 years ago i needed surgery i will need surgery again in the future for a valve replacement i have to take meds for the rest of my life.
When i was pregnant with my daughter (after having surgery) i had to be closely monitored and looked after by specialists?
During lockdown i am in the high risk category?
She (imo) needs to be more clear about the state of her health and not just use emotive language to up the ante and basically guilt trip people into taking her statements as the gospel truth or last word?
At the very least that is very irresponsible in my opinion?

She addresses this in the podcast and says that it was because of her growing up with foster children arriving in the middle of the night and knowing that social services can swoop and take your child away.
Again, it is all an increasingly elaborate patchwork of lies.
I can tell at a glance if one of my girls is ill, I can see if they have lost weight or are unhappy. I have to rely on the telephone for now but usually know within a few words if there's something wrong. Either Jack's parents are very unobservant, they are stupid or...
she's lying.
It's such a harmful myth to put out there, isn't it? When she says she didn't want to go to the food bank because it might end up with her son being removed from her care, I wonder how many people hear that and think "what?? if there's a risk of that, then I for sure will not avail myself of the help that is out there even though I need it."

At the very, very least Jack should make clear that this is NOT the case and that she was wrong to have thought it.

And, as the "co-parent" to numerous foster kids, you'd think Jack would have been aware at that time that a visit to a food bank is not grounds for the removal of a child.

God, that makes me (quietly, simmeringly etc) bloody angry.

Is that the only photo too? Not one single other, Jack?
A few other people put up pics of her wearing a fire uniform in a Pride parade. Nothing of her actually at work.

PS I am so happy that she makes reference to wearing her UNIFORM TROUSERS in her latest retelling of events. Take that, old chief!

so this is like the intro to what appears to be titled "jack monroe's book of thrifty household management". a perfectly normal sounding, if full-on, routine for a single working parent which caused her to have a breakdown? which then will lead into "i was POOR" and so on until we reach table salt in a stolen milk bottle for your baths and mussels with pears for your tea

also, jack babe, no one's allowed to sit on hospital beds. not even inexplicably not-busy psychiatrists. infection control, not completed it mate 😞
I don’t want her book on thrifty household management. Where has she shown any thrift except those bogging recipes? And I include the ‘bubble’ bath and ‘squash’. She is a prime example of someone who cannot budget or live within her means. I’m out.

That tweet is so rude. Send them, DM them, find them. Snap snap. And you know she just wanted someone to tweet the photo of her dressed up looking like a serving lady firefighter.

Why is she doing this? Why is she going over her 'origin story' yet again, ten years later, when there's so much that has changed in the world? What does she think it achieves, yet more bollocks to add to the Jack Monroe myth? She's completely stalled, there's absolutely no progression in her writing or her politics or her non existent ~activism~. She's got absolutely nothing to contribute other than rehashing events which didn't say anything about society then and says even less about it now.

First of all, big hugs about your health problems, that must have been terrifying at all points, and hope you are coping with any issues it brings up ♥

Secondly, Jack seems part of the self diagnosis trend that SM created. The amount of people who proclaim to be sick with whatever they've read online this week, really infuriates me. No one calls them out on it because it's not a hill worth dying on considering how nasty they become (had experience of this). Self diagnosers are always so vocal, they run off googled symptoms, contradictory issues, and must always be the sickest person in the convo. It honestly makes me scream! Jack is part of that bandwagon. It's bloody insulting to those who genuinely have these problems.

Jack had also claimed that she had a heart attack but there is no evidence of this. However there were photos of a SPLINTER that nearly required a trip to A&E.

She really thinks she's fascinating and unique doesn't she?
If I had no idea who Jack was and bought this book expecting budget recipes I would be *so* confused. A cookbook including references to online trolls

Her publishers cannot be happy with the quality of this? And that's before we even get into the recipes

i just thought, she said she'd just finished editing that chapter "coincidentally" as the telegraph piece came out. she then just needed someone to query it, in order to post that long thread, leading to the pages of the book that she's editing. she knew we'd take it to pieces and analyse everything,
therefore (and i do bleeping know this one) she is using us for feedback and we should all probably send her an invoice for our work!

right, so jack, see that lil pic of a dustbin up there? just take your whole document and softly, gently, restfully, drag it in there. there you go. don't forget to right click to empty now. very good. now its dino nap time 🥰

I have been prescribed beta blockers in the first instance for anxiety @Misbehaving! With no checks on preexisting conditions. This was in 2013.

The teacher was right really (I know it didn’t happen). She’s in her 30s and still regularly misses rent payments. She’s not exactly successful. It’s not the gotcha that Jack thinks it is.
but she cooked a dinner for Mary Portas, for fucks sake!
