J. K. Rowling #8 The TRAs squalling

Interestingly, Paapa Essiedu is getting flak from the TRAs for accepting the role of Snape while JKR seems to think his view on this, wrong and anti-woman and opposed to hers as it is, shouldn't cost him his job and he should have the right to express it. I wonder if he'll ever work it out...
It’s incredible how blind some people are to their own hypocrisy, isn’t it?

PE is a cowardly hypocrite. Shame on him.

The SE files podcast instagram showed a screenshot where JKR confirm the cover for Hallmark Man is chosen 🤩 I’m getting more excited for this book every day, so nice to anticipate book launches. I never camped out in front of the bookstore for HP launches but I was pretty intense about them , hahaha.

I did just sorry they don’t do the same for the strike books.

My parents wouldn't let me camp out for HP either, but there was one time, I think it was for the Half Blood Prince book, where we left home at 2am to drive for hours on an empty motorway to a campsite, and I pleaded to swing by the 24-hour Tesco on the way so I could pick it up. I remember walking in and noone else was there and there was a massive pallet stacked high with the book and taking one of them and getting to buy it in the middle of the night felt like such an achievement, bless me. I was a mid-teen at that point.

Not many months now until Strike 8. Eeeeek. I'll be getting the hardcover, as my collection so far has been paperback for books 1-5, then 6-7 are hardback. This is because I only found Strike about 4 years ago, so I bought the first one as paperback, loved it, bought books 2-5 in one go as paperback in Waterstones, taking the only copies left on the shelf, and then I pre-ordered Book 6, read it as it released, and the same for Book 7. As each book gets bigger and bigger I don't mind that the newer ones are hardback. I saw the paperback of Running Grave in the supermarket and thought it would get wrecked too easily as it's too thick and the pages too small, for me. I am also starting to buy the ebooks when they appear for 99p. I've got half of them so far, and periodically one of them will go on sale, that way I can perhaps do my re-reads in comfort on the ereader. With regards to re-reading before Book 8, I'm not sure I'll have time to read them all again, as my TBR is long already, but I think I will at least re-read The Running Grave, there's so much detail and so many moments I want to revisit.

I did the midnight releases as an adult, so on the way home from the pub. After the last one I flagged a black cab for the only time in my life and went home and sat up in bed all night reading.

Not yet Tom Burke is in a play at present and Holliday Grainger is filming the third series of the Capture not seen or heard anything else.
Fingers crossed for something soon. Last year they filmed Feb/March and it came out same year so I guess maybe S7 will air next year if they film this year or early next year.

I still remember getting Deathly Hallows as soon as it was released and reading it in one sitting and was so sad when I got to the end.

I pre-ordered the last HP books on Amazon and cancelled all plans for the weekend including seeing the boyfriend (luckily he married me anyway but it was a risk I was willing to take) and was worried in case I had to wait until 10pm for delivery. Luckily the delivery was always early and the delivery man was beaming when he handed it to me. He said it was nice having so many deliveries that people were so happy about.

I love this, it's so wholesome!

Me and a work colleague were massive, but secret HP fans. When DH pt1 was released, we both queued up outside our respective WHSmiths (I dragged my kid along, he borrowed his little cousin as a decoy), then ignored our families for the whole weekend as we read it.

When we met up at work the following week, we whispered to each other in hushed tones, "Have you read it yet?". An affirmative nod each, then we both burst out with "Poor Dobby/Dobby's dead!", which did turn a few heads at work. And unveiled another secret fan who was outraged as we'd spoiled the plot for her! 🤣

Im surprised so many HP Z lister stars are so anti JR. This letter is not signed by too many household names. People forgot those people exist for the major part so the FU to the writer seems so unnecessary. But the daily mail of course chose a rare pic of yacht and a CIGAR. Not subtle.
