Hi I ordered an Xmas present from eBay last month. It’s been 2 weeks and still hasn’t arrived. Seller has proof of postage so says she won’t refund me. As the postage was second class standard they don’t have a tracking number to prove delivery. Do you think eBay will find in my favour? Item was only £10 so not hugely valuable but still annoying.

It might still turn up yet, as things seem to be taking ages at the minute. I'm not sure how long it is before royal mail class items as being lost.

I would try eBay or PayPal and see if they can help and also royal mail too bit they may make you wait a bit longer.

open a case on ebay as item not received, the onus is on the seller to prove delivery, not just postage but actual delivery, if they can't then you'll be refunded via the resolution centre, it can take a while but open the case now before you're out of time to do so

Definitely open the case with ebay.

They are definitely more on the side of the buyer, so I can't see you losing out. If the seller wants to risk sending things without tracking then they need to accept that sometimes they will be out of pocket.

Thank you everyone. I’ve opened the case, it says eBay will step in on the the 15th December if we haven’t come to a resolution.

Was it a 2nd class small parcel or large letter? Small parcels have a reference number that you can put into the track and trace, it only updates when delivery is attempted. If it was sent large letter and there’s no proof of delivery then the seller must refund you and claim the money back from Royal Mail themselves.

seller said it was a large letter, that’s good to know I should get my money back then.

I've had a parcel disappear since October, deemed lost and whilst still not delivered they have 'attempted' it. It may still show up.
