I believe plenty on this will be delighted at the suggestion of a level 5 restriction, give them opportunity to scorn at the others. With no regard, for the social, mental, economic activity. I am at my wits end & I believe in covid, I am not an anti masker ... Just we need to live ..
I don't think that's fair to say, I for one am in Dublin andd level 3 has been so shite for mme mentally, all this shit that's happened over the weekend has me fed up andd now we are looking at worse restrictions.
How much more can we put up with ppl just blatantly being selfish, if we could all just do our bit we could be able to stay around level 2 possibly 1. I feel like you give ppl an inch they take a mile and it seems lockdown or no lockdown is the only way the irish will go by.
Sick of moaning about influencers or politicians going against guidelines but this is where we are at.

All those dopes out protesting yesterday in Dublin. They should be refused treatment in every hospital

I work in a hotel and am shocked at the amount of people who have phoned today to check are we still open and if the bar and restaurant is still going to be in use. We are located in the west and these are people from all over the country, some from counties that have been locked down before last night! We have even had bookings come in today for the weekends ahead. Fucking boils my blood to be honest.

I just cant understand how people are blatantly ignoring the rules. Suck it up for three fucking weeks and stay at home!! A huge kick in the face to all the essential workers that worked to the bone over the first lockdown!

Sorry for the rant but am I delusional here or is this just wrong?!!

People don’t give a shite & I can see us all in level 4/5 in a few weeks time😩. I don’t think people take Micheál Martin seriously at all. I don’t know what it is with him but I had more confidence in Leo eventhough I think they’re all chancers!

This hasn't been reported anywhere... I don't think we're even using levels anymore.

If anyone's interested in the details of hospital capacity etc the hse publish figures daily https://www.hse.ie/eng/services/new...tes/coronavirus-daily-operations-updates.html

We are looking at 39 free icu beds for the whole country for all illnesses. I think ppl forget why wee locked down The first time, to flatten the curve and not overwhelm the hospitals.
We will be at a situation where ppl are choosing who gets ventilators and icu beds, not many over 80 go to icu for the fact they won't survive it so we aren't talking about elderly ppl it could be ppl in their 40s vs a 16 year old. The hospital figures show alot admitted are in the 40-65 range too.

I see alot saying we should have increased icu capacity etc but you need specialist icu nurses, and our health service has been in the Shottery foor years I don't see how 6 months can turn that around.

Anyway we Are here now with limited capacity and we have ppl protesting and going to massive events like Bperfect opening.

This is shit. 😳

Well I know a couple who's wedding was this weekend and the hotel has cancelled it, one reason because rooms were booked from people all around the country. I saw another this morning say on facebook they will not take bookings from other counties. Everyone needs to take responsibility

I would have preferred a few weeks of lockdown/level 5 now so we could have some bit of a Christmas but I feel we are just prolonging it now.

I'm finding Level 3 is hard enough, but doable. Any business owner I know says they can't survive another lockdown. Ireland's ran on little businesses as much as the big tech ones. I really think if you go to a level 5 there will be such fear & resentment from the public that they'll really start losing people. They already have lets face it.

The numbers are going to be horrific after Christmas because it seems like everyone is going to do whatever they want this Christmas because they didnt get to visit everyone they ever met last year.
They will have to do some sort of mini lockdown in January, the biggest problem are those who are just ignoring the rules now as they have been jabbed its grand. Yeah no not really.
I sincerely hope not. Hospital cases are dropping, people are not nearly as sick with this variant.

Mental health has been completely ignored during this and a lockdown will do more harm than good.

Was a bit of a shock this evening but mind you I did utter a “holy fuck” at yesterday’s numbers in particular. Like we skipped the 600 and went straight to the sevens.

unfortunately we cannot refuse any one as its not the law that you must stay with in your county, correct me if I'm wrong on that! But we shouldnt have to even speak with these people, they should have the general cop on to not be looking to come and stay! All we can do is advise to follow government guidelines but people dont give a fuck!

I agree with you if it keeps going like this we will be in lock down for November and possibly Xmas!! Its such a shame!
There are only 9 grounds under which you can't refuse a booking. You (or management as it were) can refuse a booking for any reason at all outside of this so they would be within their rights to do so.

I think it's pretty obvious throughout the pandemic that there are quite a lot of individuals and businesses who can't be trusted to do the right thing.

Personally I feel like level 4/5 is coming. For me I guess I’m looking at it in terms of if they lock us down for 5-6 weeks get the r number back down and if we can be in level 2 for Christmas that is my ideal scenario rather than being in level 3/4 for Christmas when the majority of people haven’t seen family in god knows how long.

I am however at the end of my tether seeing scumbags going out and protesting on Saturday or the shambles that was that event with a number of Irish influencers last week. I think the carry on of some is actually vile and should they contract COVID and actually have to be hospitalised they should be told to feck off and best of luck. Fines should be in place or stopping of the PUP should they go and protest why should we allow the rule breakers to benefit while the rest of the country suffers.

In all honesty guys, when do you think people will be able to travel again?
Honestly I think travel should only be done for essential reasons or if say you have family living in another country but you HAVE to be willIng to quarantine afterwards on return for 2 weeks even if you go to tim buck two. And I am the first one that would kill for a holiday but I just don’t think that even with the guidelines after lockdown people that travelled abroad did it respectfully and took what they wanted to hear from the government and ran with it. Everyone used the excuse of ‘ well this or that country is on the green list so I don’t need to quarantine so it’s ok that I was off galavanting around Greece for example’. I think every country in the world was guilty of this. I do blame that partially for this mess again aswell. And sorry if it sounds a bit harsh, I’m just sick to my stomach today with everything that’s going on.

I want to be able to travel and for it to be safe but I think restrictions need to be tighter for a while on travel. The problem now is so many other countries are seeing such sharp uptakes because so much travelling was still going on when restrictions lifted. I think that’s partially another major contributor to why this is happening again.

I don't want them to close but at the same time if cases are over 10000 a day can't see them being left open
I think the school one is interesting. I don't have kids but if two parents are in jobs where they can't work from home or can't watch kids while they work it must be difficult
