This girl either cannot apply mascara or that mascara is terrible. Those are not fanned out lashes, those are clumped together lashes. I can't screenshot but that is genuinely terrible. I'll stick with my Maybelline Lash Sensational thank you very much, cheap and amazing.
came to say the same thing. They’re clumped and stumpy lashes... Great. Just what we want! 😂😂

I am so mad Lululemon are gifting her kit. They're overpriced at the best of times, but they're the only leggings I like.

And now she's getting them for free too - blerg

I live in an affluent part of London and take a family members puppy out regularly for walks - literally nobody is wearing a crop top and saint laurent blazer and Bottega boots to a muddy park (dog walks in the UK right now are seriously muddy because of the incessant rain). Also you remember all your designer clothes but forget the lead?? And you pick your dog up so he doesn’t say hello to other dogs ? Our dog loves socialising from time to time - it’s the whole point of walks for goodness sake! To run and get muddy and play with friends. It brings them so much joy. This fakeness is beyond ... I don’t care how how I look on a walk - it’s about our sweet dog and his needs.

But why do we need princess nobody in a wannbe television ad to (poorly) promote that mascara when they have Zendaya?

Back when she was still hanging on with Gleam, Victoria was invited to the Lancomé Mascara party when Zendaya made an appearance. She placed Zendaya on the title, but featured her like 0.005 seconds on the vlog, and spited her (Zendaya) of being the new face of Lancome. She was extremely jealous of the fact that Zendaya landed the endorsement deal.

right?? When did influencers start creating tv ads, it feels so strange like we’re back at the beginning of fashion/beauty again, and now we’re just flooded with inaccessible overproduced ads — except now the brands have hardly any control over what the professional ad looks like as it’s creatively directed by some teenager bloke with hair plugs in Deanshangar?

I really don't get it. Influencers were brought into the room because they offered a more authentic approach that consumers connected with. If Vicky and Hairy want to make television ads...go do that. They're not effective in the influencer space.

Amelia shared an ad for this mascara today too, using it in her day-to-day life and clearly demonstrating the voluminous effect it gives her lashes. It's not an overproduced vanity project like everything Victoria does. Kudos to Amelia for keeping it more real! She's who I'd hire.

They still have the control. If they don't give the ok, she has to make a new reel, with all the conditions the brand asks for.

Bit of a lurker so sorry if this has been posted before but - do people think that influencers haven’t really adjusted their content to reflect the reality for most people in this lockdown? Victoria is pretty bad for it - why are you trying to sell me luxury mascara and dior lipstick when I can’t leave my house/ see anyone/ go anywhere?!! Just go from reading about all the deaths and possible lockdown for months to influencers selling make up and clothing that surely no one is buying?

plus also the tone deaf impuse gucci purchases and flaunting the home gym

100%. I don't so much mind the makeup because some people have that as a thing and like having a done face or just sometimes want to feel like a more normal version of themselves (I still do mine if I know I have a video call, it's silly but I feel more professional than I do when I've just rolled out of bed), but the clothes are ridiculous. All of this just tells me that influences have no hobbies or interests. Lots of people on Instagram are doing #cookjan and if she'd wanted to she could have picked up a cookbook and worked through it, that would have been an interesting vlog (to me anyway) same with any skill. But nope, still shilling outfits and jewellery as if nothing has happened and avoiding tweeting anything political.

This is sooo bad, the three different shades of yellow, the ugly dior belt, the tacky golden jewellery, the poofy hair, the brown leathery skin...seriously how can she call herself a fashion influencer? She is influencing me on what NOT to buy!

indeed. But I imagine most of the time if they’re a decent marketing team they’ll know they shouldn’t be too prescriptive with influencer content. Just seems a bit odd to me to have such a tv ad-like final result, but for an influencer campaign.

“I only realised recently how Cottagecore my house is”

I don’t think she knows what Cottagecore is. You can just have some unpainted wood in a teal bedroom and think it’s Cottagecore 🙄
