Thing is though, you're meant to be/want to be a professional. You're never going to work on projects all the time that you have knowledge of. It's their job to research.

Wierd thing is I think he did - he said he rang loads of people and researched it - then must have ignored them and the brief entirely I was baffled as to his insistence on doing an indoor outdoor space when there were loads of actual outdoor spaces. He seemed a lovely person and took it very well though.
My design would have been very boring. Literally a sitting room with soft (though robust) furnishings. I've watched the Pete Wicks dog rehoming programme and that is what they have in their transitional rooms.

Michelle was saying that it needed to follow the brief about being a place for the dogs to learn in a hoke environment and so she thought that Victoria’s, which was a corporate sitting room, was great? You had to think about how dogs behave and so Bryony’s fabric drapes and pots everywhere was also ok by Michelle? The lady keeps changing her mind!

I wasn’t a fan of the design but I think Craig hit the nail on the head along with Rita. And as much as Sue annoys me she did some valuable insight into dogs behaviour (such as the seat in front of the cage could be intimidating and the large stairs that the DT teacher designed). I’ve never had dogs, only cats so wouldn’t have thought like that personally.

Having had a slightly unhinged Terrier we saw Bryony's room and said our dog would have gone on a rampage in there! The brush heads on the ramp would have been shaken to death as would the drapes. Seemed very impractical to me.

I couldn't see the point of all the pot plants some of them used. They require care and maintenance, and sunlight of which there was none, plus dogs are likely to urinate on them. The brief was to recreate a home, not garden.
But Michelle loved them of course

that is exactly what I thought about the plants. they would be dead or wrecked in a month

I agree that Michelle was very inconsistent. I thought it was a really boring episode overall. Happy with the result I found him really annoying and was definitely weakest overall

I quite liked the guy that went though he was the weakest.
I don't think any of them nailed it tbh. Craig's was best and his door idea was good. But none of the rooms felt like a normal living room but dog proofed.

I think it was a poor choice of challenge, the producers probably thought it would be quirky and nice to show a few dogs on the show but Battersea aren’t going to get actual interior designers in to decorate the rest of their training rooms are they? I hope they do shops or a bar/cafe soon.

I fell asleep watching this week's episode when it was first broadcast, so decided to watch the 'reveal' this evening on i-player. Guess what ? Fell asleep again

I loved the challenge, and I loved Craig's room. I also really liked Rita's and Victoria's.

The colour of Briony's was horrible and I didn't like any of the stuff she'd put in there, but I did like the wallpaper. John's was a bit unfinished and everything was too big, and the scouse lad's wasn't fit for purpose, really.

I've enjoyed that we've seen different challenges this year - no children's thing (was it replaced with the retirement homes?), the little office space was really different, now this transition room.

Michelle is always inconsistent, that's why I said last week that I find her wishy-washy. Two competitors might do the same thing one week, and she'll love one and hate the other.

Me too. This series seems to have lost its way. I find the contestants pretty bland and the whole thing feels flat.

It was a bit boring again.

Rita’s was well executed but in my opinion the green and the print where the little girl was wearing a South Africa shirt were both pretty big issues for the home of English rugby.

I disagree, I like these different businesses. Next week is the retail one which is always my favourite

Also corporate stuff is a large part of an interior designers market.

This series for me has been the best in a while.

I loved Craig's!
I know it didn't have much to do with rugby but it looked gorgeous and expensive.
I was surprised Michelle didn't mention Victoria just having stools in her room. Completely unsuitable if people are older or have disabilities. For instance I couldn't sit on one for any length of time because of my back.
I didn't like Rita's church pew either - uncomfortable and meant the room was stuck in one configuration.

I'm enjoying this series. Loving Craig's style, but missed a main point of the brief this week 🫣 Rita definitely has a good eye, but agree it missed the mark for the location!

I love Mad Men and that mid century style but I thought Craig's was a bit chaotic this week. Too many ideas in one small space.

Brionys was good, but cramped. It didn't seem practical for a big group to be able to get around.

Johns was great, and would have been stunning if he had finished it. He's getting frustrating though, constantly not finishing. I really hope he pulls it out the bag next week.

I liked Briony’s walls but I thought the table cloth wasn’t in keeping with the rest of the theme. And Michelle didn’t call her out on how poorly she covered those chairs.
