Another influencer crowd funding for financial help, this time a £30k tax bill ->

Not directly shady with their ads, but just shady with the entire bleeping lifestyle? Not only how dare these people who don’t/couldn’t buy the items they flog to us continue flogging them via parasocial relationships, but also how dare they showcase insane levels of consumption that leave them in these scenarios? Then try and come back to the very ppl they’ve taken for dickheads to bail them out?

The only upside to the financial disaster 2024 will be is the ending of this influencer shite!

Wow, I've just seen this. The absolute brazen gall of asking strangers to pay your tax bill?!?! 😲

So bleeping cheeky! I assume by ‘take out money’ she means that she has spent all of her income without thinking about the tax and National Insurance she will owe. Sounds like a you problem Stephanie!

If you go check out her thread on here you’ll get the full details, but apparently she did have at least some of the funds because she was then tweeting sadly about how now she’ll never be able to buy a home? So she really truly thought she’d get to keep her savings cos we’d all chip in?! Looool. Honestly when reality hits for this group they’re in for SUCH a shock as to how the real world of work is & the state of the economy.

Thank you for sharing this. Interestingly, Stacey Solomon and her father have not been declaring their gifted holidays this year totalling thousands of pounds. Today Stacey’s dad - photography by davids has attended an arsenal match and tagged Champneys spa but not mentioned that it’s gifted which it is as other influencers have been gifted the same. Why can’t these influencers just be truthful with the people that follow them? A lot of them have been gifted events such as concerts, Lapland uk but they never declare them as gifted. Their followers think they’ve actually paid to go to these events. A bit of transparency and honesty would be nice.

Jake quickenden and his wannabe celeb wife were at champneys this week too. Celebs aka scroungers.

Edited to say they didn’t mark any stories as AD

The companies are too trusting that the idiots they use will do things the right way. I think they'd like to know when they are at risk of a fine from the ASA or the CMA

None of these guidelines from the CMA or ASA are new. Influencers have been bound by them for years but choose to ignore them. The ASA need to clamp
Down on all practices because more and more people are not declaring ads properly. This morning Em Clarkson has buried the AD after you open the caption for her Ninja air fryer which is against the guidelines and she knows it

their managers and agencies need to tell them to sort their tit out and put ad clearly at the start, on ever story and that it includes anything and anything given to them. How hard can it be?

It isn’t hard. They are choosing to obscure the ad because they want you to think they pay for stuff and actually like the products etc otherwise they look like the salespeople they are. If other advertising is subject to tight rules it baffles me why “influencers” are not subject to the same stringent rules.
