I hate my workplace

I'm having a really awful time at work at the moment. Constantly being pulled up on things when I see colleagues doing worse things that they aren't called in for.

I come out with less than £200 profit a month from working 2 days a week after paying nursery fees for my youngest. Unfortunately it's money that we really need.

It's just a horrific bitchy toxic environment and every day I'm in I just want to get up from my desk and walk out.

I need to get out of there for my own sanity but We need the small amount of money I make. Looking for another job isn't really feasible as I work really specific hours to help with childcare as we don't live near any family.

Not really sure what the point of this post is but just needed to vent 😔

£200 a month, so £50 a week. £10 a day.

can you look at ways of cutting down any of your current spending/outgoings to save that £10 a day? If so, you wouldn’t need to work and wouldn’t have the childcare to pay for.

If it’s a desk job, can you potentially work remote? There are a lot of remote opportunities now on LinkedIn that allow flexible working hours.

Is looking for another job really not feasible? Lots of places have recognised increasing needs for flexibility for their staff and there are lots of part-time options out there (obviously this depends in part on where you are based).

For £10 a day is it really worth it? Surely there’s ways to save £10 per day. How much is going on the cost of travel to & from work each day? Lunch at work? A bottle of wine at the weekend?
if she’s only banking £200 per month after childcare costs etc the easiest and most obvious thing to do to rectify the imbalance is to look at ways to recoup that £200 per month and then she can stay at home with the child.

There are of course other benefits to working - pension contributions etc which aren't reflected in take home pay.

Yeah I know. But when we are talking about this lady who says she NEEDS to take home the £200 per month then it’s clearly the actual day to day finances that are the push point here.
