Hysterectomy Advice

I had everything out in 2015 including cervix. The worst part was the constipation from the pain relief, that's the only pain I had. Haven't had any problems with orgasm even with the cervix out.

I've had no problems since. Was back to work after 6 weeks, in a physical job. I did start walking a decent amount from a week after surgery to strengthen the muscles, and to keep myself from going dolally on my own in the house.

Hiya all
I have recently been told and been put on the waiting list for a full hysterectomy and then treatment from being put into early menopause.

I understand that it needs doing due to my medical issues but I’m worried about what I’ll be like afterwards.
will it feel weird where it all used to be?
will I have any other problems resulting from it?
What will early menopause be like?

I’m a whole mix of emotions and I don’t know anyone my age who’s had this done to pick their brains.

Do any of you lovely lot have any experience to impart on me?

I had a post menopause full hysterectomy recently, via the laparoscopic entries. My recovery was so uneventful, it was a bit odd. I didn't even need pain relief. I was very good about not driving, lifting, etc and I did get very tired for the first couple of weeks.
One thing that helped no end was that pre anaesthetic drink, can't remember the name, that provides nutrition to enable a quicker recovery from the GA. I usually take ages to recover but not this time.
I was also advised to take some Movicol for the first week or so. And was given some anti clotting injections to self administer daily, which was, surprisingly, not at all horrible.
I asked my gynaecologist some very detailed questions about what would happen inside afterwards and was reassured that the vaginal cuff, as they call it, wouldn't be just flapping about with no cervix to hold it but that there were also a couple of ligaments attached, which would hold it in place. Also, the internal organs would naturally resettle into place in the abdomen with no voids.
There is a slight ongoing risk of prolapse post hysterectomy, but this is now my excuse not to do the heavy lifting!

I had a partial hysterectomy some years ago for fibroids. I was having a "period" every other week - one week on, one week off. I chose to have a partial because I wanted to keep my cervix so that I wouldn't lose the ability to orgasm. Everything went well and I was soooooo much better afterwards and didn't have any issues. I wish you all the best for your surgery.

I had a hysterectomy when I was 36 for fibroids and endometriosis, my ovaries were left in but I ended up needing another op two years later to have them out because they were still giving me a monthly cycle (obviously no bleeding but still awful pain from the endo)
I can honestly say it was the best decision I ever made. I had an uneventful recovery,
I was off work for about eight weeks, but I felt fine after around 3-4 weeks, just had to be careful lifting heavy stuff etc.
There's no feeling of weirdness where it all used to be, sex didn't feel any different.
I had HRT (tibolone doesn't aggravate endo so it's a good one to take) and that stopped all symptoms of premature menopause.
Good luck with it all, honestly for me it was life changing because I had suffered for years with horrendous periods and pain.
