Don't water over the leaves, just the soil. Had mine about 16 years now!

Yes, whatever you do, don’t dead head it straight away.. I have one that’s coming up to three years old, that’s still twigs thanks to my other half’s excessive trimming!!

Evergreen feed and weed is good for lawns. You can get granules that you use with a spreader, or miracle grow do soluble lawn feed and you just attach a special gun to your hosepipe and put the powder in there - so quick and easy. Keep your grass cut regularly and don’t worry too much about the patches - we have some in ours from animals peeing so some stuff you just can’t help

We've got 2 hydrangeas, one is massive, just leave the blooms on all winter and take them off after the frosts have all finished. Otherwise the frosts gets the buds. Water it as usual and I give it a bit of feed now and again. Thats it. One I pruned right back and it came again o.k the next year.

I’ve made a point of using a jug and just pouring it on the soil as I’d read about leaves shouldn’t be watered. How often do you water yours?

thanks for this! I shall leave the little thing be well until winter has passed before doing any tidying up with it. Hopefully I can keep it going and it’ll flourish.
Will also look into the feed for the lawn

Hello

so I bought my first house last year, and although I’m no green fingered soul and my gardens both back and front are mostly laid to lawn with stone borders, I got a lovely red azaela for my 30th birthday which appears to be doing well in my back garden (sun during the day and shade at night).

I’ve just purchased a hydrangea and I’ve dug a hole in the middle of my grass out in the front garden and planted it in. Gave it a really good drink last night after planting and have bought top soil today to add to it, as it’s slightly higher than the original soil from the hole this morning.

Just generally looking for any tips on caring for it please.

Also if anyone has any advice on how to get my grass greener, as it’s still got patches of yellow in it despite fertilising and giving it tomato feed
