Does anyone else hula hoop for excercise? I'm missing swimming and rowing as I HATE running. Does anyone have any recommendations for ones good for fat tummies. Serious mum tum going on here

Argos did a weighted hula hoop that was pretty good. Weighted hula hoops bruise you like anything, though.

Oh ta. I'll take a look. My tummy is so vile i don't think bruises will make a dent.

When I was a member of WW so many people hooped! I've tried and tried but I can't do it. I never could as a child but I bought a weighted hoop about two years ago and I've really practiced followed videos etc and I just can not do it. So frustrating!

Lol that'll be me. My son fat shamed me yesterday so after crying myself to sleep I've decided to do something about it

lock him in the shed? Good for you!
Thanks 😍😁👍. I think my partner would of if he could. He's only 4 and we don't fat shame. I'm dead against it. Not just cos I'm overweight atm but because it's wrong and he just came out with it and kept going on. He's not usually one of them little shits, so i bet one of the terrors at nursery said something. Although he is a bit of a tit in lots of ways just not being mean to people.

I have a weighted hula hoop I bought from amazon. It might bruise at first but I think your body gets used to it or stronger because I don't bruise when I hoop anymore. When I first started I’d be lucky to keep the hoop going for a minute! Now after lots of practise I usually hula hoop while watching the telly, sometimes end up hooping for an hour!

I got one a few weeks ago! Couldn’t do it at first and now can do for about a while but I get bored and it’s painful 😭 any advice?

I hula hoop for 20 minutes every day to an episode of Frasier, apparently it burns 150 ISH cals so not too bad and as others said it stops bruising.

I can't go anti clockwise though 😆

I am really interested in getting one of these. May I ask what you have noticed, results-wise? I am slim but looking to tone up my middle, and get rid of a bit of tummy fat. Would it have an effect on this?

Have you seen a difference? I can only do side to side

I have also been doing online fitness videos and running occasionally alongside hooping but I have noticed my tummy toning up a bit, hips have gone down, i think all of the exercise has worked together to help. I find I burn a fair amount of calories hooping though!

I can’t go anti clockwise either, what is that about! 😅

How do you know how many calories you’ve burnt with hula hooping? My fitness watch doesn’t track it :(

I have an Apple Watch and record it as “other workout” which apparently burns the same calories as if you were on a brisk walk.

I was doing it regularly and could see my core getting stronger. The weighted one is easier. I tried a normal one recently and couldn’t do it

It feels good and I'm doing it along side quite a lot of other things to hard to tell.

It's an easy habit to keep up and I think that's the main thing

I'd quite like to learn some tricks though
