I am finding myself increasingly dehydrated even though I am necking 1.5-2 litres of water a day (plus a couple of hot drinks)... any tips on how to increase this without pissing like a camel every 5 mins! :(

I would go and see the gp or at least give them a ring. Feeling thirsty/dehydrated can be a sign of something wrong. Eg diabtetes or even anemia.

I drink around 2.5 litres a day as it’s the only thing I drink really. I wake up and have two glasses of water before breakfast. A glass with breakfast. Then I drink at least 1 1 litre bottle at work (stainless steel one that I take to work) and then a glass when I get home from work. Usually another while I’m cooking dinner. And at least one more before bed.

I just think my body is used to it now and I don’t think I pee anymore than anyone else.

I attention drink anything else. Maybe a cup of tea or coffee once or twice a month and I weaned myself off or my Diet habit as used to drink all of the above and probably two cans of Diet Coke a day.

Would suggest buying one of those 1 litre bottles of water - I’ve got a hydr8m8 one or whatever it’s called - then aim to finish it twice a day. Once you have it sat there in front of you it’s easier to drink it. The weeing eventually does calm down in my experience. Caffeinated drinks are usually diuretics so you might want to hold back on those while you’re getting going with more water. I only have one caffeinated coffee in a morning now and aim to finish my litre bottle 3 times :)

I started trying to drink more water from today and it's gone ok. I had 2litres of water, diet coke, coffee and some squash. I was weeing constantly though! I've bought a 2litre bottle and that's how I will gauge it

I drink a lot as I'm always thirsty . I'm not sure how much probs about 2 litres. I always need a wee. Sometimes I feel dehydrated, but I wonder if that's environmental eg temperature related or are you more active .
I have been tested for diabetes in the past and it was negative.

On the other hand , my toddler doesn't drink much. I'm trying to potty train them and they never need to go and often end up constipated.

I’m honestly terrible at drinking I may have 1 or 2 cups of coffee a day and maybe a glass of squash if I’m lucky. I seriously need to up my game!

I have one of those large water bottles/beakers (I got mine from ASDA - I think it fits about 750ml?) and try to drink about 3-4 of them throughout the day.

I find it helps because that way, I know exactly how much I'm drinking. I'll often drink even though I don't necessarily feel thirsty, and don't drink much else. (I'll have a cup of green tea with breakfast + one at night, and maybe a glass of fruit juice, but thats it).

I'm exactly the same. I drink 0 water, drink about 3 half cups of coffee (I can never finish one!) - that's about it. This thread makes me realise how bad that is!

I drink 4-5 litres on a good day. Sometimes if I'm busy I can only manage 2 litres but its just become habit. I mainly started 3 years ago to lose weight as I was necking around 6 cans of diet coke a day and nothing else. Now I can't go without my water haha

glad it’s not just me. I’m going to make a conscious effort to start with it

I've had to really force myself to drink more. Things that have helped me are getting a brita water filta so I always have cold filtered water. Then I bought an insulated bottle and take it everywhere with me. I also like those teabag things that flavour my water also. There are apps too but I've never used those.

What really helped me is to get a big water bottle with a straw, so much easier to drink more that way

I do need to stop drinking pepsi max, but its so hard!

I should drink more but I struggle with a weak bladder. My job involves driving around most of the day and during covid it was a nightmare cos I couldn’t find any public toilets so I literally wouldn’t have a sip to drink from 8am until 5pm some days which is so unhealthy and I would get awful headaches. Now I have about 2 cups of tea, maybe a coffee and usually about 1 glass of water over the course of the day. More if I go to the gym.

Anyone needing a reason to drink more - if you don’t drink enough, your urine becomes thick and can start leaking out of you. Happened to my friend, she was another one I never saw her drink water or even have a drink with her meals etc. Just coffee and the odd Coke. She actually was terrified she had cervical cancer because of the smell or BV or something and it was just urine leaking out. Whenever I see my bottle has half left I remember that happening to her and down it 😂

I used to be really good and drink a good 4 litres of water a day and my skin looked amazing and hair/nails grew so fast too. Now probably about 1.5/2L as well as herbal teas during the day after my morning coffee. Really need to up my game!

I have never actually seen my mum or dad drink a glass of water, just tea, coffee, or beer/wine 😂 I honestly don't know how they do it, I'm always thirsty 😂
