How much to pay a teenager for dog-sitting?

A acquaintance has asked my 15 yr old daughter to dog sit a couple of times recently. They only live 2 streets down so it’s easy enough for her to get there, and she seems happy to earn some money. The dog is easy enough- he just wants company so she sits and watches the TV and takes him out for a wee occasionally etc. I was surprised though that she’s only paying her £3 an hour. My daughter isn’t complaining, but I can’t help but feel it’s a bit tight? I was on that much money over 30 years ago I think? 😬

I’m just interested what others think if I’m honest. My daughter is fine with it so I won’t be interfering in the arrangement, but genuinely want to know what the going rate is!

My teens get £20 for 5 hrs or over and £10 for less than 5 hours.
But that's for two dogs and it's my parents. So I think the rate is Nanna and Grandad doing their bit for my wallet 😂
They don't get walked by the teens because they are medium sized and one is nervous so it's not a good plan, but one has a stomach issue and there's possibly puke to clean up so it sort of balances out in terms of responsibility.

I suppose if she’s not actually taking him for a long walk then it’s not bad for just sitting watching TV?! Around that age my daughter looked after a neighbours dog for a couple of hours each day for a week, which included walks and they paid her £5 a day (but that was 8 years ago).

But I also know of a 16 year old who got paid £20 each time she walked a neighbours dog for an hour!

Minimum wage for a 15 year old is £5.28 per hour, so I do feel they should be giving your daughter at least £5.
