How much do you spend on shampoo and conditioner?

I use olaplex shampoo and conditioner. It works out about £50 for both. They last me about 4 months. My hair was really dried from regular bleach before I started using it and now it’s in great condition so it’s money well spent for me.

I'm currently using milkshake. Change the one I use every time I need to get a new one. Love the smell and my hair feels so nice and stronger.

Around £40 every 5/6 months for shampoo and conditioner

Ah, but does it bring all the boys to the yard? 😉

I’ve found for my scalp the only thing I can use without aggravating it is T-gel, this is after many prescriptions & expensive bottles of specialist shampoos! Then I buy any big bottle of conditioner I see for dry hair, just to use in my ends.

As someone with PCOS and seborrheic dermatitis T Gel by Neutrogena has been amazing, I’ve tried a lot of medicated shampoos out there and prescribed ones they’ve never worked. I also use Garnier Ultimate Blends. I stopped doing CGM a while back as my curls became greasy and limp, using T Gel and Garnier has actually cleansed my scalp and given them some lift. For any curlies who want to know how “clean” their products are, I recommend the Think Dirty app but it isn’t always accurate. I’m a curly who definitely benefits from sulfates and silicones to give my curls definition.

Shampoo bar from cosy cottage soap company. Is 3.90 and lasts about two months.

I use their conditioner roundel as well, it’s 4 quid.
Both products are vegan.
Frizz ease conditioner, 3 tubs have lasted me since Xmas and very occasionally Aldi own brand, 89p and not animal tested.

Have you tried Nizoral shampoo? I have a sensitive scalp and as soon as I feel it getting agitated, I wash with Nizoral and it’s usually fine for a couple months! Had to use it more frequently when I first used it though.

Yeah, it worked for me for about 6 months as a regular shampoo and it’s like my scalp got immune to it and just ended up back at the start (which happened with a few I tried) x

I used to spend stupid amounts of money on Shampoo & Conditioners as i was mad on the Aveda range but found it didn't do much for my hair. I now use Avon's Moroccan Oil Shampoo and conditioner and cost £2 each and love it.

I also use the lush bars, they cost around £8 each, and one lasts me around 6 months. Since using them the condition of my hair has improved no end, would highly recommend.
It did take me a few washes to get used to the conditioner bar as my hair is so thick but i wouldn't go back to bottled stuff now.
I use these to i use jason and the argon oil pink one .

I use Lush solid shampoo, the ones without sulphates. £8 and last ages. Then I use Aussie conditioner, but need very little as the shampoo is so gentle.
What ones do you use?

Slightly off topic does anyone have any good recommendations for shampoos that are good for sensitive scalps. No matter what I use after a few washes or even the first it gives me a really dry flaky scalp or even burns it and my hairline goes all red😭😭😭

£100! I'm sorry, but that is mad! Trying to stay off my high horse here, but *whispers* some people are struggling to buy food...
I've looked at Oribe and wouldn't touch it. That Gold Lust shampoo is full of silicones, which are cheap ingredients and not at all good for hair in the long term. I never buy shampoo or conditioner that contains silicone or sulfates.

My hair gets greasy quite quickly. I've been using the Elvive clay shampoo for the past couple of years designed for greasy roots and dry ends which is the best I have tried. I wash in the morning, sleep in dry shampoo that evening, and then leave it a day and wash again the morning after (so wash every other day but wouldn't last that long without dry shampoo).

I recently bought a massive bottle of the Sukin Natural Balance and am so disappointed and gave it to my boyfriend (a big treat for him honestly he could wash his hair with washing up liquid and not even notice 😂 😭). It left my hair feeling all gross and greasy around the back of my head like there was loads of build up.

Would love to go for one with better ingredients and no sulphates/silicones but every time I've tried one my hair just dries greasy. Shampoo bars never worked either and good gosh have i tried to train my hair to like them! Any recommendations?

I use the Christophe Robin range, specifically the Rose Volumising shampoo and conditioner and the Color Shield shampoo and conditioner. Neither of the shampoos contain sulfates or silicones and the conditioners don't contain silicones. I also use several masks from Christophe Robin, including the Shade Variation mask in golden blonde to keep my hair colour vibrant. I also love the Regenerating Mask. Obviously I don't use everything all at once, I switch around according to what I think my hair needs - I wash it every day as it's fine and gets oily if I don’t. Additionally I use Olaplex 3 every once in a while and I have number 1 and 2 appliedatthesqlonwhen I have my hair coloured. Regarding cost, a shampoo and conditioner from Christophe Robin is about £65 for the two. I buy them from Look Fantastic and they often have discount codes available.

I alternate between John Frieda Blonde and Ogx. They are affordable and seem to work for my hair. I have long, straight, layered hair and I’ve found the L’Oréal No Haircut Cream a life saver during lockdown.
