Housing tenancy advice (wales)

I was given notice to quit October 2023 but it was illegal as my last agreement was years before (everyone was to have a new tenancy agreement by October 2023 in wales)l Landlord spent loads on lawyers to force me out but can’t.

They were told must give me new contract then try to evict.

However it’s electronic format that I cannot access,

• I needed download a special program, which i did and, paid for (they claimed it was free it’s not)
• They said I’d get a hard copy in case that was easier
• my device screen reader isn’t compatible with the program
• the email is unreadable, even without reader my email pro can’t read it

Theyre emailing several times a day.

• They know I cannot access it so cannot sign.
• Housing worker has rung and gone to see them as has their manager and sent emails but all their doing is sending more (inaccessible) emails to me.
• They’re intending to remove me by force 31st if don’t sign and I cannot.
• They now say they’re not allowed to do hard copy and to look at my last one then sign electronically but law changed in 2023 so last invalid AND program to sign doesn't work.

(lot more issues ongoing so trying to keep this simple, also thinking it might help others)

Not been able to get through they’re basically only helping people being evicted by court immediately, if not at that stage they direct to their website which was useless (as in told me to ring them for advice )

There’s such a huge housing crisis, it’s absolutely ridiculous. Housing options are the same, you have to be a month from eviction to even be considered for any property. I’m so sorry you’re going through this and I can’t be more help, must be really stressful and unsettling

For the sake of anyone else reading this. Sheltercymru helpline now cuts people off after 30 minutes of waiting, and if their maximum number in queue is reached they won’t let you wait. They're only open from 9am-4pm and after getting through finally yesterday i was told it was too late in the day and to try again today. Though I was going up the queue it was more likely people were being disconnected, not helped.

Given their they're all there is for the whole of wales that’s a dreadful service.

They gave in and gave me a paper copy to sign. They weren’t happy about it.

I've other issues but for now I should be ok housing wise for six months. I say should..
