I don't use an ice cream maker, I just add condensed milk to the mixture and whisk up. The condensed milk stops the ice crystals forming

I want the new Nija machine that does soft serve, but it's putting me off that Beckham advertises it, lots of influencers advertise it and my kitchen is tiny + it looks big and ugly. I know pro chefs that have one and love it.

The last one was $250 and this has an extra function, so it could be more like $400 when it comes out next month. I'll wait for a discounted price!

Ok, I’m contemplating buying an Icecream maker! For years I had my eye on Cuisineart…however…looking at the Ninja options I’m wondering if I could be taken to the dark side!
So, any advice would be greatly appreciated…what machine are you using, pros and cons…and of course…your favourite ice cream recipes!
I am looking to buy this for my wife, but I would be an absolute liar if I said I wasn’t to be included in the decision making! I am lactose free! So always thought sorbets were my only option…right…GO 🍨🍦🤣

My sister is the queen of home made ice cream! I’ll ask her which machine she uses and will get back to you!

I have a lakeland ice cream machine, it's not too big and cost less than £50. I make vegan ice cream and sorbet in it and they have come out really well. One 40 minute churn makes a soft serve consistency, 80 minutes for scoopable ice cream. I really like it because it's easy to use and clean.

I have the Lakeland one and find it so easy. I freeze the bowl the night before. I made ice cream for Christmas dinner and all my guests complimented it

I have a Cuisinart. Love it. I make the icecream from custard base, egg yolks, milk, vanilla beans and some sort of sweetener. Sometimes add rum and or sultanas soaked in rum.

You could use lactose free milk.

I've got a Cuisineart one. The only problem with it is you need to freeze the bowl before you can use it. It needs to be upright and in the freezer for a minimum of 16 hours which frankly is a pain in the arse and is the main reason I hardly ever use it.
The Lakeland machine also requires this. I put it in the evening before I make the ice cream. I don't find it a hassle. You can't clean the bowl right away however, it needs to come to room temperature before cleaning which I tend to do they day after I have used it. It's a minor annoyance as the ice cream stains have dried onto the bowl. I'd much prefer to rinse it straightaway but that goes against the care instructions.
