New thread

I’ll start - went on the implant last month, had a period like 2 weeks ago, been spotting ever since. But had sex a few days ago and ever since I’ve got cramps the bleedings got heavier 😣 anyone else find sex brings on a period? Defo period blood and not like watery injury blood

I know irregular bleeding is normal on the implant but just checking it’s okay

Another FIT question. If anyone had a positive result and got referred for a scope did you hear from your doctor first you'd get referred or just automatically get a letter from the hospital? As I read someone online say they just automatically got a letter for cancer referral for further investigations (scope) and dint hear from their doctor and the doctor didn't even know. Just as I'm registered with my parent address and I haven't told them I'm having the FIT test/bloods as if they are fine I won't bother. I just don't want them to open a letter for a cancer referral if that's what'll happen without me saying something first

Would your parents actually open a letter addressed to you ?

They have before by accident and I'm not usually bothered by it. Think they are used to it as my sister got them to open hers whilst she lived away from home for uni. It's not like I'd keep it a secret if that happened anyway as I'm pretty sure my mum works on the ward in the hospital that does the kind of procedure I could possibly need so couldn't just turn up secretly

Anyone else ever pass light pink bits of what I think is uterine lining during period? I don’t think it’s a decidual cast as it’s only little bits but it does sound like uterine lining from looking online

I’m going away next week and looking forward to it which is why I’m in full anxiety mode 😣

The GP gets the initial result and it says on it further tests needed, hospital to action. The hospital then take over and would get a letter direct from them. The GP would get the outcome letter once you've had any investigations/treatment.

Hi all

I have an extremely dental fear.

My dentist was actually struck off. I have been for checkups regularly for the past 2 years after finding the most lovely dentist. She has now left the practice 😢.

My new dentist is..ok. he's not very good at explaining or telling me the plan. For example I went for a checkup and he just randomly started cleaning. He was very thorough though and I'm sure his work is quality.

I am due for a small filling on my wisdom tooth on 2 weeks. I'm not too panicked about that.

However for the past week my tmj has been flaring up and I have had pain in my gums radiating to multiple teeth. I can't pinpoint a tooth as it moves around. My flare is much better but my gums are swollen around multiple teeth they are not red or bleeding.

What's scaring me is at my check up around 1 month ago my dentist was looking on that area and was surprised a tooth wasn't causing pain. He did an x-ray but said it looks fine. Now that's the area that's hurting.

Iv finally had enough and managed to make an appointment for this Friday (through gh tears) on the phone.

Now I just need the push to actually go. Im scared of what they will find! I'm imagining a root of canal 😭

Ok this is really embarrassing but I have an external haemorrhoid and I've had small ones in the past but I've recently been constipated and now I have the biggest one I've ever had (bigger than a pea but smaller than a grape) and it's so so painful - it's only been a couple of days and I'm using the creams, having paracetamol and drinking water and having more fibre like crazy.

My question is, when do I have to go to the doctor? I have anxiety about it since it's never been this bad/big before but also I don't want to go to the doctor about it because it's embarrassing!! Online it says if it persists longer than a week but it's quite scary since it's bigger than what I'm used to.

I’ve had external piles for years and never go to the GP about it!

I use Anusol and I use Andrex toilet wipes. I also use a little foot stool to raise my legs up more to help the poo come out easier.

Mine look exactly like a bunch of purple grapes and can be quite big. They come and go all the time and have done for years.

How did your appointment go?

Dentists can be terrifying if you don't find a good one and usually the good ones are all private 😐

Losing my teeth is one of my biggest fears 😅

It was actually fine. My teeth had no problems!. Just a large old filling she said to add to the to do list at some point as it will need replacing!. I'm not too worried about fillings. Looks like the pain is from clenching my teeth. She said work on getting your stress and anxiety under control.... Lol... Like I haven't been trying and failing at that for the last ,10 years!

Hi I just stumbled across this thread. I swear I haven’t felt right with about 3 years and I wonder is it all from Covid - I’ve had heart tests stress tests, camera up and down and the last year I feel like there is some nagging feeling in upper stomach - I have myself convinced of all sorts - sometimes it’s not bad and more times it changes to more like a pain especially after eating ☹ it’s not a heart burn it’s like the top of my stomach just under breast bone. I convinced it’s my liver or something. I have tried nexium herbal teas - supplements etc. I just don’t know is it some form of stress anxiety etc and what can I do.

Do any of you have really small (pin prick sized) pink/red dots on your arms and chest? I’ve had them about 2 years but suddenly (don’t know why) started to worry and google and its come up with petachie which has spiralled into researching leukaemia.

They’re so small that a photo probably wouldn’t pick them up. They’re not clustered together, they’re spread out like freckles or moles would be. They’re flat to my skin and don’t itch. Some of them blanch slightly when pressed. I’ve read a couple of other forums that have said cherry angioma but ive made myself worry and anxious 🫠🫠 thank you if you’ve read this far. Health anxiety is so exhausting

Think they are sun spots and they show up as we get older

Yes I’ve got them on my arms. They’re harmless.

Cherry angiomas tend to be raised. I'm very pale and a natural redhead and my skin is very blotchy pink and mottled, think its just normal. if the spots are asymptomatic (not bothering you) then they're unlikely to be anything sinister and you say you've had them for 2 years so that in itself is reassuring x

Hello, I've been reading this thread for a while and am struck by the similarities I share with you all. The fear and worry that comes with health anxiety is nightmarish 😞
I am currently struggling. I have a history of IBS but it has been under control for some time. Basically since December I've noticed a change in my bowel habits and I have all the symptoms of bowel cancer.

I've gone from thinking I'm losing weight without trying, to thinking no I'm fine, and now back to oh God I'm losing weight. I was 62kg in Feb, 60kg in April and 59 today. It isn't easy for me to lose weight and while I have been eating less this hasn't changed in the past 4 months.

The second terrifying symptom is that during the weekend I was constipated. On one of my attempts there was a trickle of dark brown liquid on the toilet bowl, very similar to vaginal discharge that I've experienced in the past. I didn't manage to have a poo. The second attempt there was small pale brown droplets and again no poo.

For a while I've been having a lot of mucus when I wipe. I thought this was ok when I first noticed it because Google said it's normal. Now I don't think it is normal
.

I have an endoscopy and colonoscopy booked for 2 weeks time and am going back to my doctor tomorrow.

I feel like I need to prepare myself for the worst.

Good you’re getting it checked out but your symptoms are also symptoms of IBS.
