Yesterday I lost a piece of sentimental jewellery 💔 I’m praying it turns up but I feel so sad about it...

I know people lose things all the time, so I was curious to know what others have lost? (And to make me feel a bit better 😂)

Have you ever lost anything important? Certificates? Passport? Jewellery? Keys? Purse?

A ring my grandparents got me for my 21st birthday, and another ring which was my great nans engagement ring. Both were together in my bag at a place I used to work, I’m convinced someone stole them 😭 almost 8 years on I’m still absolutely gutted 😞 I’ve never told my grandparents I’ve lost them as I know they’d be so upset. I hope your jewellery turns up soon! It’s absolutely gutting isn’t it 😢😢😢

I lost a ring that was my Nan’s when I was in my mid to late teens, still feel bad about it but have accepted it and it’s made me a lot more careful. Fortunately it wasn’t a valuable ring or I’d feel even worse.
I also once lost a key ring that had a spare key for my best friends house as well as my own key and a key for my locker at work. Turned up years later in an old bag I’d slung in the wardrobe then forgotten about 😬

My virginity to a total prick 🤣

but in all seriousness I did lose a ring my nan gave me. It wasn’t expensive or worth anything really but the sentimental value can’t be replaced

I lost my engagement ring once. It was in my purse because I was going to the gym but I’d stopped to take money out and hasn’t noticed it falling out. I was beyond sick...but some lovely man handed it into the police so don’t give up hope of finding it @Scorpihoe

This sounds so silly but my friend brought me and another friend all these really cute matching personalised mugs with our names and stuff on - and it’s really special to me and I use it everyday. Today it fell out of the cupboard and smashed and I could literally cry just thinking about it - I’m torn between being too embarrassed to tell my friend I’ve broken it and wanting by to ask her where it came from to replace it?

I lost an engraved Tiffany bracelet my husband got me for my birthday. I wore it all the time and It somehow fell off one day when we were out shopping. It was in winter and I think it must've got snagged on my gloves and fell off when I took them off at some point during the day. I was so upset and still am years later by it. Sure someone thought it was their lucky day when they found it!

Ask her and say you’re considering getting it for someone else as a gift and then replace it!

I actually lost a little Tiffany aquamarine bracelet too ☹ I usually don’t lose stuff often so when I do it really upsets me because I try and be good with my stuff! I feel like Tiffany bracelets come off so easily!

The watch I got for my 21st birthday, I lost it when I was 30.

My ex bought me it and we had recently decided we couldn’t stay friends after trying to keep a friendship going. I think it was meant to go missing because the time was right for me to move on. I do wish I could have boxed it away and held onto it though, I wore it everyday for almost 10 years.

Not silly at all, it means a lot to you ❤ I would honestly let her know, she’ll be able to see how upset you are and she’ll be touched to know how much you loved it and wish to replace it.

Not in the physical sense but a good few years ago now before I used cloud storage, I lost hundreds of family photos, baby pics etc that were stored on my phone after an update also caused my phone to restore itself to factory settings, I remember at the time this happened to a fair few people with the same brand of phone and I was one of the unlucky ones. I was devastated, I usually backed up my pictures on an external hard drive but for some reason hasn’t gotten around to it for a while. At the time I uploaded a fair few photos to Facebook, so I managed to save some of them but most of them got lost forever. It’s made me so scared of it happening again that I now have my pics backed up on 2 clouds, an external hard drive and am also working on printing as many of my photos off as possible and making a physical photo album.

Lost my passport when I was abroad (still believe it was stolen to this day) I was 18 and it was my first proper holiday with no parents, I was sooooo careful. It was an absolute nightmare to put it lightly 😆

I've lost my purse twice (once when I was 14 in a park and once when I was 21 when I forgot it in a university bathroom) - I got it back both times. Lost my ID card last year (and also in 2010, didn't get it back). Lost a camera on my last day of a backpacking trip (well I'm pretty sure it got stolen... But don't know for sure). Lost a key for a freight elevator at work last year ( I think it was in my back pocket and it must have fallen into the toilet when I used it 😂 because otherwise I think it would've been found at some point). So yeah. Don't trust me with important stuff. Oh yeah and once I was hitchhiking I forgot another (different) camera in a car but got it back (thanks to the internet).

1. I lost a gold ring my grandmother bought for me when I was 18 or 19, by dropping it from a second floor window that opened outwards so needed to be pulled inside to be closed if that makes sense- without realizing it was already loose because I did play with it. I still feel sad about it now since she died two years ago.

2.A new watch when I was 8. I took it off in the school bathroom to wash my hands. Not there when i realized and went back for it.

3. Old journals from when I was 15. I write a lot, they were left on top of the cupboard, no idea where they are now.

Not silly at all! My mum once dropped and smashed a mug that a customer had given me years ago when I worked in hospitality. I think it said "heart of gold" on it. Basically, I let this customer have her lunch for free because she forgot her purse and didn't live in London, she commuted in each day. And she seemed genuinely flustered and was probably hungry (I say free but I think I paid later)

I was so sad when it was smashed because it meant a lot to me and It was a little bit of thanks and recognition I'd never had before. I still think about the customer/mug from time to time. 😭❤

I feel ya girl

Ahhhh thanks it’s not about the mug is it? But the story behind it?

My car keys. On a beach. I was by myself. Ffs.

For SOME reason I had my phone with me (I usually leave it in the car when I go walking.. but someone upstairs was looking out for me. Had I not had my phone I would have no way to contact anyone) and so was able to call mum. Eventually I caught wind of an uber nearby and snapped it up. He took me home, my mum got her boss to take her to the beach and get the car with the other car keys! What a bleeping nightmare!
