Hannah Adkins #2 Another week, another let down

I grew up with a Dad who could build anything and he redid our entire house throughout my childhood without any help whatsoever. He’s too old now to help me with my house but he would if he could. I don’t blame her for having a contractor in the family. She has been honest that her Dad is “helping.” He is doing everything including paying for the majority of the home, I’m sure. It just leaves little room for true inspiration. All of these influencers come from money and make easy money. Show me someone doing it the hard way who has truly earned it.

Is she even engaged? Who takes on a project like this without being fully committed to your partner?
She is engaged. Kenny proposed a few years back, right before he moved to Thailand.

Has she mentioned anything about him coming back?

I'm usually interested in reno stuff, but somehow haven't been able to bring myself to watch even one of Hannah's reno vlogs yet.

She ditched the plant based diet the minute she moved to the Cotswolds and gained a new (older, American) audience who want pretty but boring Cotswolds content. Same audience as Josie.

Her plant based diet was only ever for content and weight loss purposes. Back in the very early days of her channel she posted a bunch of weight loss vlogs where she would pose in a bikini in the thumbnail and talk about how much weight she had dropped. Her sister would feature in those vlogs too. Not sure if those still exist or if she deleted them.

Yes! I was so confused to see her meals... I'm vegan and cannot imagine switching unless for medical reasons...

I thought she did a mention in a video this year responding to this.
It was something to do with her having low iron.
Thank you. I must have missed that. I watch all videos but sometimes they're just in the background. I also have low iron (ferritin to be precise) so am forever taking iron tablets or supplement with spa tone etc. I get it, just surprised...

I'm hearing so many people getting a surprise diagnosis of low iron I'm wondering if I should get tested.
I've spent this year trying to get the inflammation in my body down, which meant cutting out all UPF as much as possible, and avoiding sunflower oil especially.
I do feel better for it and can have treats in the house without having the urge to binge, like UPF stuff is designed to make you want to do.
I don't eat a lot of meat, though so with people being diagnosed with low iron because of this I am wondering.🤔

I'm not surprised if she had low iron. She seemed to live on pesto pasta and rarely seemed to eat anything that would help with upping her iron intake.

Her YT was heavily promoted as a plant-based (and weight loss) channel right from the start. She used it to gain an audience, before quickly dropping it when her audience shifted. It was very convenient for her that these health issues started right when she moved to to Cotswolds and gained an audience who just seem to want pretty countryside scenes and endless dog walking content.

ETA: She also didn't drop her plant-based diet for health reasons at first. That explanation came later. At first she said that she was back eating eggs because "It's OK to eat eggs from Cotswolds chickens." We discussed it here at the time. Before that, when she would show eggs in her kitchen, she would pretend they were for her sister when it was clear she was eating them herself.

I think it's worth checking your levels now and again. Like a personal MOT 😊 I'm in peri now so low on everything (excl rage ha!).
