Thank you so much for responding, she did end up being put on antibiotics which we were giving her by syringe but she unfortunately passed this morning ❤
Oh, I am sorry to hear this. She reached a good age and I am sure you gave her a beautiful life.
Sorry for your loss. ❤

Hi everyone, thought I’d start a thread for hamster owners as I noticed there isn’t one and was wondering if anybody has any advice/experience with an elderly hamster with wet tail? My hamster is over two years old now and has developed symptoms of wet tail today. We’ve got her in at the vets this afternoon but I’m struggling to see how we’d be able to get her to take antibiotics as she’s become a major recluse in old age and just takes to her bed 99.9% of the time and hides from us. Just wondering if there’s any chance for her basically or if it’s likely that the kindest thing to do would be to put her to sleep as I really don’t want her to be in pain
