Hair extentions advice

hey,
I am contemplating hair extensions with some birthday money I will have. I've asked my hair dresser about them before, I have very fine hair which doesn't grow very fast around my face. She suggested having just a few on the side sections to thicken it out and make it look a bit fuller on the side. She quoted me £80 for the hair which would last 6-9 months and £50 to fit.
I am really tempted. I've just had my highlights redone and I really want the side pieces of my hair a bit thicker.
The extensions she does are LA weave and micro rings. Does anyone have these and whats your experience?
Also, how often would I have to have them moved up? Would that be another £50 'fitting' ?
Thanks ladies!

Hey! I have the taped extensions - they have been amazing for me after I had a lot of hair loss post child birth. My first set cost me quite a bit (£80 ) seems reasonable , but lasted 14 months. I have them out and back in every 6-8 weeks but mainly as I need to have my colour done not because they need to be removed. I have very dark hair x

I presume she would be fitting the micro rings which are individual bonds, perfectly discreet for finer hair. It will make a massive difference having some in each side, easy to maintain as well compared to a full head. I can’t comment on price of fitting of hair as each salon is different, I’ll just say if it’s good quality hair and you look after them you’ll be able to have them refitted a few of times before needing to replace any.

I’ve had extensions in the side of my hair for the last few years for the same reasons. I used to have micro rings, but I now have handmade by my hairdresser bonded extensions. They are fab and so much better for my hair. But I wouldn’t personally leave in as long as she suggested. I get mine refitted every 8/9 weeks.

Wow so cheap? The salons near me charge over 200 quid for the minimum amount of extensions 🥴

Can anyone advise the best hair extension method with the least damage to your hair? I've heard tapes are good.

I have 2 wefts which are sewn in. I have a row of micro rings put into my own hair, and the weft is then sewn onto the ringed sections. Lasts for ages - I usually go every 6 weeks for root colour, but they usually haven’t moved much in that time. Application time is quick. I don’t have any hair loss around the extension sections and have been wearing extensions for about 4 years now.
