This!! I was the same, she's about the same age as me and I thought she was a really good example of a single childless 40-odd woman who's unapologetic about her life choices etc etc. But then I witnessed the rampant narcissism/'pick me!!!' vibes/band wagon jumping/attention seeking/aggressiveness/hypocrisy etc etc and I thought 'no thank u not today'!

Here she goes again raving about one of her very best lifelong friends (someone else she’s never mentioned before), also she’s not just sick with a cold she has “insert odd word here” caused by “insert rare teenage health issue here”. Our Gizzi can’t just get a cold. And then she’s swanning off to five guys with a starter (?!) I love food but who needs a starter at five guys?! To infect the general public again like an absolute bleep.
I really don’t get it. If you are that sick, why are you not at home resting and keeping your germs to yourself? She has been out to a gig, seen her friends, been out to restaurants. She has been out more than me in the last two weeks and I’m healthy. You can’t have sympathy for being “terribly sick”, if you are doing nothing to help yourself recover.
Especially after the couple of years we’ve just had. Yet again proving herself to be completely out of touch with the masses even though she’s from the streetz (in her eyes). No one thinks it’s cute any more to just soldier on when you’re sick, not that she’s even doing that, she’s out partying and socialising.

If they were ghost written then that person is obv very good because I actually haven't been disappointed with a Gizzi recipe yet. But also why would she bother training at Leith's for 2 years to get someone else to write the recipes for her? I think she is genuinely passionate about food, it's the other parts of her celebrity persona that drive me mad.
instagram totally ruined gizzi for me i used to love her! however there are a few recipes i tried from Slow that really did not work for me at all, like the venetian ragu and the incredibly disgustingly cloying ramen
I am sceptical about the recipes being written totally by someone else, it isn’t unheard of for the more narrative bits of a recipe book to be written. I used to know a ghostwriter for Nigel Slater. It’s a whole industry. (though I am loving that there is someone who clearly knows her IRL as they have some insider info, who hates her enough to come on tattle and exaggerate a few things
