Anyone ever been ghosted? All stories are welcome but I am wondering if anyone has been ghosted by someone they were actually pretty serious with? Because I have, literally just out the blue. Phone off / I am blocked when the day before that he was saying how in love with me he was etc. just want to know I am not alone!

You are definitely not alone! I was ghosted for the first time this year. We weren’t that serious but I thought a lot of him. Then he was just gone. It was utterly heartbreaking and so hurtful in a humiliating way. It made me question whether I can ever trust anyone again. It’s very hard to get over it in that sense. But, I have forgotten my attraction to him and moved on now. I can see the situation objectively for what it was and see how wrong he was for me. I think ghosters are incredibly juvenile people.

Good to know I am not alone but sad someone else is going through it! I have been ghosted before to be fair but this one seems different. For context We had plans for the future and even plans for next weekend (weekend away) we had a little bicker on Thursday - last message I got was midnight and I haven’t heard off him since! Phone is off or I am blocked. I know people will probably think yeah duck boy. But without going into too much details he really messed up 2 weeks ago and has spent the last week begging me back. He says he’s in love with me and all sorts and now this. Fully ghosted and I feel so helpless.
If you don’t mind me asking what was your situation? How did he ghost and have you ever heard off him since?
We were just casually (but quite intensely) dating for a couple of months. Started to get less and less back from him. Then suddenly noticed he’d deleted/blocked me everywhere. Never heard from him again and we live far apart so I’ll never see him again.
Mine lives far away too. Well, not round the corner. I’m just really struggling because I need closure
I'm glad I've found this thread. I was ghosted by a friend! It was so horrible. In the end I phoned him, and then he finally answered my text and I got my closure and moved on. But in total it took a year...

Not me but my lovely nephew. He had been with this beautiful, thoroughly wholesome and sweet lassie for about 4 years. She had to move to London for her job and my nephew was going too. The plan was she would go down to her uncles, where they would stay til their flat was ready. She goes down on the Friday night and he doesn't hear from her atall that night. Or the next one or the next .....Her parents back home only confirm to my nephew that she was safe and had started her job. Nothing further and she blocked him on absolutely everything and all of his friends and family.
His heart was shattered. His confidence went. He started to have panic attacks and well you can imagine. He was nearly three years like that all because that girl didn't have the courage to face his devastation.
It's so cruel. No warning signs. No personality changes. No worries and a healthy relationship. Plans to get married, the whole deal. Then she "died" on him. Except she didn't. His heart knew she was out there living her life whilst his was in ruins.
Pleased to say he now lives with his true love and their cats. The ghost is well and truly forgotten about. But the experience in and of itself never will.

Oh wow! Did he ever find out why she did that?
I was ghosted by friends. We lived in the same block of flats and spent a huge amount of time in and out of each other’s places, helped each other out with stuff, socialised etc. They were my best friends really. Then they moved away and I went to visit a couple of times which was great. One weekend I suggested they come up to me and we could go out and they didn’t get back to me. I tried to call, no answer, left a couple of messages, nothing. I literally never heard from them again. I did send an email saying how sad I was and wondered if I’d done something but they just never replied. It was really upsetting because ghosting wasn’t a thing back then and I just had no idea what had happened.
I did some social media snooping a few years ago and found them on Facebook. They had three kids and seemed to have settled down. I did think about messaging them but decided against it.

No Peaky, he had to find his own peace. She never did own her destruction to a person who has nothing but the best intentions for all. Cowardice.
Peaky I know it's painful just now. I will be thinking of you. You are going to be alright and the alternative to not alright is a lesson learned. Only you will know what that lesson is
