In my opinion, both GHD and Cloud 9 are great options for long, wavy/curly hair, and both heat up well for a smoother result. If you're looking to invest in something that will last, GHD tends to be very popular for even, consistent heat.

I've never used Cloud 9 so can't comment on them but I love my GHD's. I'd tried so many cheaper brands before I finally invested in some!

So it's time for me to finally upgrade my current hair straighteners and I'm thinking of spending a bit of money and getting some decent one. - I've always bought a pair for like £30...

I have long wavy/curly hair so they do need to have a higher temp.

I've been looking at GHD's or Cloud 9 and would like people's opinions ?

Many thanks
Sorry if there is a similar thread like this, I had a quick look and couldn't see!

I used to be a ghd devotee but had 3 pairs break in quick succession and decided to try cloud 9 and will never go back. Perform great, no drag/hair pull (which I was getting a lot of with the newer ghd). I've had mine for the around 5 years and still going strong.

I’ve just replaced my 10 year old GHDs for cloud 9 touch iron. I’ve always had GHDs and used my sister in laws cloud 9s and they make for a far superior straightener IMO. Takes about 5 minutes to straighten my hair with them and it’s such a noticeable difference using them compared to GHD

I'd go for Cloud 9, just because the folks who started ghd then created Cloud 9, and (arguably) did it better.
It's always easier to improve upon something that already exists than creating from scratch :)

I had always been a GHD girl - had the same ones for ages and loved them, and even had them repaired once, but then they broke again and I’d had them years and years by this point, so decided to go for C9 for a change. I really like them and I feel like they make my hair look much nicer, but I went for the wider plate as I dont like narrow straighteners. I also waited for an advantage card offer in boots so got like a million points when I bought them
