Hello 👋🏻

Due to placenta issues and family history it is looking likely that I will again be diagnosed with GD this pregnancy. I was diet controlled with my previous children but as I am 'underweight' I fear this time it wont be as easy as the previous, when I was a normal weight and so I wondered what everyone else ate/eats when battling this difficult phase? And any tips or tricks you may have.

I know everyone is different. The keto diet and low GI has always worked for me so im planning to try that again.

Fully understand medicine is available, however the hospital i am under consider you a 'normal' pregnancy if you are diet controlled and a lot of the red tape is removed.

Thanks x

I found walking after meals for 30 minutes helped my blood sugar, I also read somewhere apple cider vinegar helped so took it in tablet form and remained diet controlled for the whole pregnancy. I don't know if that helped at all in reality but just thought I would share. Take care of yourself and congratulations on the pregnancy :)

Congratulations 🥳!! I’m under weight too and also had gestational diabetes with both of my pregnancies. Eating little and often helped regulate my blood sugar. Low GI was exactly the way I went too and did help. I also did a fair bit of light swimming, aqua fit and gentle stretching to keep moving which is of course a good thing for you. Wishing you all the best for a happy and healthy pregnancy xxxx
