George deserves this . He would have probably given the proceeds to charity knowing him

He actually did. It was originally released in December 1984, the same time as Do They Know It's Christmas so George insisted that the royalties from his song also went to famine relief charities. It meant that both the UK Christmas number one and number two singles featured George on vocals and that their combined sales went to charity.

7 Years since he left us, Lovely Tribute, So very sad he left too soon and then the absolute tragedy of his Dear Sister on the same day 3 years later ( I had a deep admiration for Melanie she was a extremely talented hair stylist and gave it up to support George)
I always Think of how his Father and his remaining Sister ( Jack and Yioda) feel at this time, Not only did they loose George and Melanie but His Mother Lesley her Birthday was Christmas Eve, Must be a extremely hard time for them and their extended family ( and David Austin ) I hope that this Number One will soften those wounds this year
Never Forgotten GM and your Music will live forever, You Have Been Loved

When Last Christmas hit no1 in 2020, George Michaels Estate ( Ran by his sister Yioda and David Austin) released a statement saying how Happy they were to continue to support charities close to George’s heart
George is the sole Writer of Last Christmas, Performer and Producer, They will give the royalties to charity again Makes my heart smile

Thanks for posting. I was wondering earlier today if the proceeds from sales of Last Christmas were still going to charity.

Our Patron, Saint George Of Michael would be happy

What was the programme called? Trying to find it on sky to download. Many thanks x
It just said 'George Michael'. Recorded in 2010. I didn't realise it was on and only started watching at 11. It was on from 9.15 to 11.20 on bbc4.

So pleased about this! Really thought fairytale of New York was nailed for number one!
From what I was reading, there was a good chance the TikTok lot might have gotten it which would have been awful. We managed to dodge the bullet when Lad Baby said they weren't gonna enter this year...which was strange and makes me think someone told them they likely wouldn't get the #1...

Then it was revealed the TT 'influencers' were releasing a song...but it was fine because they weren't doing it for themself but rather for charity..sure it would get them attention and more subs meaning more money in their accounts....but they were only doing it because it was for charity and nothing else.

The fact that it was a song that was decades old that most people likely already have bet them was hilarious, more so since it is such a great song and one you love hearing every year unlike the cacophony that has won the last few who won't be remembered in 5 years, never mind nearly 40.

A well deserved Christmas No1 after all the years of crap singles we've all had to put up with.

How very Dare you lol Nah Andy is very much heterosexual
There’s a Interview with Peter Tatchell ( Gay Rights and ran for councillor in the 80s)
He said he met George in a little gay club by Manor House station before Wham! George was confused and thought he was Bisexual for a long time understandably, with his Fathers traditional Greek Cypriot parenting and then being thrown into the spotlight and 80s Beatlemania ( myself included Thirsty Teenagers) not surprising he wrestled with his sexuality
Andy was a Ladies man to the edge of being a player, the Love is Platonic but a friendship forged at a early age, George was Friends with David Austin since they were Toddlers again Platonic

Okay that was a feeling I had. Honestly I ship them a lot and tried to find evidence of it but found nothing so far
