That sounds like a specific usher problem but I also know that they're probably under some pressure from above. Although I don't understand why you'd think a GM songs gig wouldn't have dancing?

Multiple people complained to the duty manager that night and the second part of the show, no-one gave a toss and were all up dancing.
I was just annoyed I missed dancing to my favourite songs.

I'm a quick reader, but I had to take the book slowly, it definitely played on my head - as much as I'm glad to have read it, it came with sadness didn't it . Yes, Kenny didn't come out well, or Fadi. How different life may have been for him if he hadn't lost Anselmo . Terrible.

Who is the author of this book, so I can look it up?
Sorry if you have already said, had a quick look and couldn't see. Thanks!

Just devastated is how I felt afterwards. I mean the rumours and gossipmongers weren't shy about the stuff George was up to, at the time, but I think seeing it put down on paper gave it more coherence, if you like.

So many people that were hangers-on too who didn't have his best interests at heart, just their own. But you also can't help someone who doesn't want any help

I'll be honest I didn't want to put on this thread how it made me feel - I loved his spirit, his sense of fun, but there was clearly a downside to that which I recognise . To put the face on even when things are tough.

Many of those around that knew him from the start, must have felt watching, but could do little to help unless there were times he did want help. From the money aspect it did appear he was useful to many, why couldn't they just enjoy being his friend/family. He helped so many too - so generous but without wanting any fanfare.

Such a rare and beautiful human - not many like GM.

I don't know of the author - I did mean to check him out, but it felt from my perspective that it was written with honesty and clarity.

I don't usually get terribly upset when a celebrity passes away,
but the 3 that did make me feel very sad were:
George Michael
Caroline Aherne
George Best
All 3 very talented in their respective fields.

I've finished Andrew's book "George and Me" and the archival materials, including photos and Wham gig tickets, were a bit of fun. But I don't actually feel like it's shared anything new or groundbreaking.

That said, the love for George jumps off each page and if it's hard for the fans, I can't imagine how awful it is for those close to him.

Saw Rob Lamberti last night! Amazing! ( pardon thd pun) lots of dancing and as you say accurate and polished in how true the performances are to the original.
