I've been looking toward shows from the ancient times that were well written and engaging and could spark discussion but did not preach. I miss telly like that.

If a scene is there because it actually advances the story or is an interesting character moment? Absolutely, give it to me. That is rare these days imho. It's just a load of weirdos trying to push things further than the last person,

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!

Also bad language - I swear like a docker on here - IRL - not nearly so much. Only when I am really at the "swear or stab" stage of sheer incandescent rage. And at one time it was like a physical punch to the face if someone used 'the "F" word' - now I barely notice it. It's horrible.

And it's horrible not only to hear, but it's also horrible that it barely registers. I didn't used to swear at all but social language in general has gone horribly downhill and I just think it's symptomatic of a general lack of respect for others.
I know I’m in a tiny, tiny minority here, but here goes. I hate the “c” word with a passion. I can’t even type it I despise it so much, and I hate the way it’s creeping into every day use. I feel the same way as you used to about the “f” word, which I must admit, I mutter away to myself a lot.
I’ve never been huge on telly, I’ve got the attention span of a gnat, but there was some good dramas in the past that hooked you in. I don’t think I’ve watched any since maybe the first couple of series of “Happy Valley” or ”Line of Duty”. I don’t think I’m missing much.

The timing means they can go on summer camps and sleep in tents with girls!!!!!!

Just kick them out already, you know this is against the law!
in really don't know how any one could risk assess their summer camp if they know they had a "trans girl"
In their unit

Some of the hysteria about "men showering with little girls" is ridiculous though as adult leaders have seperate sleep and wash facilities from the kids!

Absolutely agree, and no one seems to think the scout leaders shower with the kids? (Although there is suspicion around any men who wanted to run activities for children which on one hand seems unfair but then you look at the news and read all about men doing horrible things constantly)

They really do have a humour bypass don't they? (Context larsot on X was approached by a pretend PI, this was one of the comments and the response).

The TRA's would get so much further in life if they just learnt to laugh a little.
Poor guy is currently being targeted by the likes of Tarquin et al. Yesterday he was interviewed by police on suspicion of ‘malicious communication’.

Don't know if this is a new thing but just came across my socials.

Since when is she able to speak into this sort of thing? That little photo in the corner is gross, that looks like a man, surely it can't be good for a baby? View attachment 3935513
More engagement farming slop I’m afraid. Bella Ramsay never said this. But because she’s so vocally non-binary, it’s easy to make up some shit and have people repost it 🙈

Another male sex offender who now says he’s a woman (he’s been seen on this thread before but it was sentencing today).

The article here started off quite well. Included a ‘he’ pronoun for him. As it should.

Then once it had reported on what the judge had said, it used they/their pronouns.

The judge can get in the fucking bin. I’m glad he’s in a male prison. But it’s because he’s a man. Not because of his ‘criminal status’

But will it go on record as he? 🦕💚🤍💜

I don't believe you are in a tiny tiny minority here? I absolutely hate that word and have never used it, in my life.
I'm not overly bothered but around my mum it is completely unspeakable so out of respect I never say it at home.

For my own upbringing, I had very involved grandparents and most swearing around them was a no no... although I did learn a few of the ruder words in Italian because my grandma despite being a very proper lady by default (strict Catholic upbringing in the 20s/30s) also sometimes had a mouth like a sewer if the mood took her. Props because she was one of ten kids and I imagine that's a quick way to pick up all sorts. :ROFLMAO:

Oh fuck off you pathetic hand maiden.
I am going to be superficial and shady. In Whittome‘s video, she has the cheek to say about gender critical campaigners having brass necks. Well, Nadia, your neck looks like a bleddy goitre (it’s not, it’s just not a handsome neck).

I like plenty of my own space , always have done. For donkeys years I leave notes & have buggered off in the car , or gone to the bedroom. They know better than to open it if its closed... .
We had a touring caravan, and every year I too a week on my own (with one of our dogs). It was bliss!

I've also taken part in guided slient retreats (you have an hour a day to talk to your guide - the rest is blessed science(. I loved it! Not cheap though and now I can't afford it <opens "Go Fund Me>

Ditto - though once or twice I've found myself typing it in a strangely spelled form - but at one time I couldn't even bring myself to think it. It is the foulest, ugliest, most disgusting word in any language IMO. But nowadays it is, like the "F" word, everywhere. It seems in by osmosis and (probably to protect itself!) the brain ceases even to register a lot of the time. People even use this vile language around very small children - and of course, they pick it up.

At one time I would have said something to teenagers, or even adult men, who were swearing horribly in public, but there is so much casual violence in our societies today that I am very reluctant to risk a punch, or even a horrible outpouring of verbal aggression. I'm a coward in my old age.

It's definitely better for children to be with one of their parents. Doesn't necessarily have to be the female partner. When my daughter was at school there were a few stay at home dads whose partners had the better paid job, as I remember one of the mothers in question was a GP and her husband did part time work around looking after the kids so role reversal can work.
It’s like everything else it’s hard work getting men to do anything not all but most if not for their benefit then it doesn’t get done I know a couple of stay at home dads and one is brilliant the others not so much the partners still doing the bulk of the work. It’s a man world and they won’t or can’t change.
