I think the white mum thing is a play on the joke going around about how british (typically) white mothers will make a ‘picky tea’ with salad and bread and bits as soon as the sun comes out. But in classic Gobby style she phrased it awkwardly and if you’re not in on the joke it looks strange.White mum?????

It's sad because the plate screams "social eating". The closest she's going to get to a buffet or picnic is by making one for herself and eating it alone.
I suspect she's trying to say "look! I'm woke" by throwing the nods to white culture in there but failing because, as you say, its definitely more a British thing and it's far from woke to classify British culture as white.Is it a 'white mum' thing?
