Food intolerances on holiday

This is probably a bizarre question to ask, but has anyone ever packed in their suitcase a carton of dairy alternative milk when travelling overseas? Obviously shrink wrapped.
I’m intolerant to lactose and soya has the same affect on me.
We’re possibly going to the Caribbean next year and I’m already getting anxious about how my stomach is going to be while there as it’s happened before.
It sounds pathetic, but I want to be able to have a coffee every morning (not black, though) and I’m even considering packing a loaf of my dairy and gluten free bread as well.
I know in the grand scheme of things, it’s not major, but if you have intolerances yourself, you’ll understand you want to avoid the extreme bloating, and in my case, constipation! 😫
Or is there anything I can take tablet or sachet wise that will settle my stomach?

I am coeliac and diabetic. I have a letter normally from the doctor and speak to the airline beforehand and can get extra luggage allowance. But all depends on airline etc and whether your gp will allow it

Not sure if this is the same but I work in France over the winter in hospitality and I've had guests who have brought over all their own non dairy milks in their suitcase's. Even had a guest who brought frozen fish over and frozen vegetables (unbelievably particular with their food). I've also personally brought bottles of gin over to Thailand for a friend who lives there in my suitcase (don't think it was allowed) but it was all fine so yeah I reckon it's fine to pack non dairy milks into your suitcase.

I am coeliac - I have great experiences really. Particularly in Europe, they have a great understanding. I would recommend to email where you are hoping to stay to find out what they can do to suit your needs. For me, a chef came to show me what food was suitable in hotel restaurants, and dining out was much easier than here I would say.

Email the hotel you’re staying at the they can cater for you also, make sure you read the milk product they give you. A hotel I stayed at in the US gave me “Dairy Free” UHT milk for my coffee and when I read it in small print it said “Contains Milk”

I have always taken dairy free milk, dairy free butter, bread and snacks away with me in my suitcase. It has never been a problem. I wrap it up and put into separate bags just in case it leaks but so far, never had a problem. I take long life soya milk. I usually check if there is a fridge where I am staying. Great suggestion above to email the hotel and ask if they can cater to your needs.
It is definitely worth taking your own bits, as it will make it easier for you and take some of the worry off your mind.

If you'll be eating at the hotel get in touch with them and tell them about your dietary requirements. Most now will offer alternatives and happy to cater for anyone with other dietary requirements.

Even local supermarkets are getting better, can't speak for the Caribbean but perhaps someone from the hotel could inform you of what products are available to buy.

Also check out Celiac Travel website https://www.celiactravel.com/cards/ they have lots of info and cards in different languages to help communicate your needs when eating in different places.
