@Alansbigplate you mentioned in the previous thread about easy recipes. I had quite some time when through various reasons I'd stopped cooking for myself. One reason was because of low energy and mood I did not want to deal with the mess and washing up.

One thing that helped me was getting one (and later another) of these

Amazon product

I found various microwave meals for one online. I've done mushroom risotto, French onion soup, 'stir fried' chinese noodles and lots more. Other thing that helped was having pre prepared veg such as sliced onions, soffrito mix and mushrooms in the freezer so I could just use what I needed. Frozen herbs that you could just take a pinch of added extra zing.

It's also very handy to be able to eat out of the cooking vessel!
That’s really helpful, I was thinking of just buying myself a load of ready meals but that feels more depressing and unhealthy than anything. I had one of those once for porridge at work they’re fab thanks

OMG @crystaleyesd I am in awe - proper food porn 😍I still don't know why you didn't just go to Five Guys but this is very close second I suppose.

I flippin' love truffle-flavoured stuff because I am a FANCY lady 💅Is that Jessie Wallace (equiv) slightly out of shot?

Don't worry, I'm saving Five Guys for half an hour before it closes - (not a) chain fast food always tastes so much better when you have to run for it.

I usually find truffles overpowering but this was *chefs kiss* magnifique! And no that is not Jesse, that's my friend who lives in Paris (who I'm also a bit in love with but he's married so I just gazed adoringly and then went back to my hotel room alone to sigh dramatically and gallically)

@Raker forums are definitely great for introverts! Even better now most have the reaction option as I can’t always summon up the energy to actually type a reply but do want people to know I’ve read/appreciate their post.

@crystaleyesd OH.MY.GOD 🤤

I was delighted to find this forum, especially because I was under the impression forums weren't very well used as a format anymore! I much prefer to chat in a place like this rather than an FB Group. And while being quite extroverted in some ways I prefer this way of chatting because I can be quite socially awkward and this limits that to a certain extent 😂

Breakfast time, soy yogurt, bananas and pomegranate. I have to say I am so thankful to Flumps and other people here encouraging one to eat nice things.
It is an uphill exhausting battle for me. I do feel so much better afterwards, thank you so much

This is soo pretty. I have pomegranate seeds in the fridge and was wondering what to do with them, I need to eat a load of fresh stuff as I'm off to my partner's for several days tomorrow. This will cover both the yoghurt and the seeds dilemma.

Re the other thread. I feel oddly nervous about talking about it here, like we're going to get told off, which I don't mind in principle, but I would hate for this meandering pathway to be culled for whatever version of mumsnet's 'not in the spirit' type rule we might be breaking. But overall, for the majority of the threads I thought we were sometimes harsh and pissed off with R Jackie, but always fair, and calling her out on the right things. Now <shrug> I don't know, it doesn't have the same feel. I don't know if that's orchestration or just the power of populism, but either way, like others, I feel more uncomfortable with it than I did in the DKL days.

I got up early, for more cake action, decorating the carrot cake I made yesterday. As I used to run a cake decorating business I feel like I should provide my partner with a *fancy* cake, but am also doing birthday on a budget this year, so suspect it will not live up to last year's Death Star.

I've had a lot of coffee and some carrot cake offcuts for breakfast.

Fraus may also appreciate the best croque monsieur I have ever eaten (it had truffles in it - FANCY).

I was actually going to do a Home Bargains post the other day, after I made a meal which basically consisted of stuff I'd bought from there. It was orzo with sun dried tomato paste, capers, sun dried tomatoes and roasted red peppers (all from HB) - with a bit of blue cheese from the freezer mixed through and some fresh basil on top (not from HB). It was quite FANCY, I thought, which is why it struck me as ironic that it was a Home Bargains classic.

Very confused here for a moment. Thought you were talking about the actress who plays Kat Slater.

Thank you very much, I did not want to whinge on this lovely thread.

When I first discovered Tattle I dipped my toe into the Hinch threads. I thought they were unnecessarily cruel and really nit picky. Honestly, that woman only has to blink and it’s discussed as being wrong in her threads. The mother thread feels like it’s going the same way to me.

It feels like a harsher place and the sense of community has drifted. I think the unique set of circumstances of lockdown, DKL and a lot of us with time on our hands led to a really nice friendly forum.

I wasn’t happy about the gif embargo and I find it annoying people complain about happy birthday posts. How joyless. That says to me that people are there just to tear JM apart, dissecting the most inconsequential details of her life. It’s a far cry from the grate (geddit?) corned beef days.

On a separate note, does anyone know where Motherwellgirl is? I can’t tag her so I’m wondering if she’s deleted her account or changed her name?

Hmm if you can’t tag her / her doesn’t come up in predictive search, this might mean she has left Tattle?

Also really missing @MarmiteExtract 😭

Early lockdown DKL days were definitely the most entertaining! It's crazy how many new members there suddenly are...I wonder what triggered so many people to discover Tattle? I first found it by typing 'Father of Daughters twit' into google lol
I 1st visited tattle when Schofield broke, then the DW thing kicked off, I didn’t have a clue who JM was, but had heard the name in relation to KH. Discovered the JM threads and laughed so much at times, but was also disturbed, by many things.
I have read everything but still don’t really understand the who and the what, but that is probably due to my late arrival.

I will be going retro later and making a rhurbarb crumble for later.

Last night's tea was turkey ramen, soft boiled egg, sugar snap peas, spinach, sweetcorn and lots of coriander - surprised myself by how nice it was.

I find it very easy falling into a rut cooking the same things over and over but reading lots of lovely things here has encouraged me even if it doesn't last for long.

And because I haven't seen it for a while and have missed it

Does anyone have suggestions for avocado that aren’t just on toast/ guacamole? I keep getting them in veg box and have no other interesting ideas 😑
